Finally I got my last mammoths:

Fenryll, DeeZee 1, DeeZee 2, Primaeval 1, Primaeval 2.

From the side, with a dead Primaeval mammoth.

Washed and ready to be glued.

And then I realized that I had run out of glue, and I have no place, near were I live, where I am able to buy my favourite brand of glue.

Sigh.

You don't think, the mammoths were numerous enough as it was (as per the results of the test game)?  lol

Nah, hahaha, well I don't know, I would like to play test with 4 players or with 2 players in each side of the table and not in the same side, as it was the cavemen had a hard time to catch up and only reached the mammoths one at a time, I think it would work if more cavemen was closer to the mammoths, after all that would make more possible cavemen attacks pr mammoth attack.

Time will tell  ;D

Well, I shall be there to be squashed under the heel of a mammoth or two. If I get the job I'm after, I may even be there semi-officially to do market research  :D

Hallo everybody, here is a little update. I have been laying low for some time as I had to concentrate on preparing a Berlin gig with my band. But hopefully I will get back on track soon again.

Mammoths prepared for painting

Basecoated.

A back of custom dice I ordered for the game.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, mammoth!

Actually I did finish the new mammoths too, one night when I couldn't sleep. But it looks like I didn't take any pictures of the finished models yet.

Yeah, hopefully I will be ready, my budget to finish this project is a big round zero kroner. But I would think I can pull it off, after all I have most done already.

4 players works well,it did at colours ,we ran about 10 games per day ,with up to 4-5 players at a time, ages 4+ ,dont worry about where the players start from, as the first player to hit the herd they will spread where they will, just make sure that they start from the table edge.I made the players have only 12 points to pick from.[4 og`s ??]and changed the rules so archers get a +1 per archer that targets the same mammoth[3 archers same mammoth 10+each ,4 archers 9+ each] as we found that no one ever pick archers after a while
the custom dice look lovely ,i wish  i thought of them and your herd is as big as mine [what no baby mammoths?]
have a fun  time on the tundra
........ :D and remember  dogs can`t claim kills

As I don't have that many cavemen yet I have premade the hunting parties. 1 Ogg, 2 closecombat cavemen, 1 archer, 1 firemaker and 1 dog. Maybe I will let players choose their own hunting parties, when I get more cavemen.

I have been wanting to get the baby mammoths, but apperently they are not available at the moment, I don't know how you got your hands on yours?

ok, time is passing and I still have some left to be done...

So doing the pit traps, I really don't have any good material to do this, so it is going to be a trial.

I start with a cardboard base.

Glue on some strips of other cardboard and fill with a hot glue gun.

Glue on some sand.

Size comparison with mammoth and caveman.

Tomorrow I will have to do some gardening to get some sticks. I will cut these sticks into shape, glue them inside the pit trap and then paint.

I hope this will work, if not I am screwed...

Maybe some tweaking must be done for the final pit traps, this will work as a proto type.
