28mm radio station
« on: 01 September 2011, 06:08:08 PM »
Finaly managed to finish my radio/tv-station building
I measured up an original plasticville kit and scratchbuild this one from foamed PVC
I'll probably make an antenne too, but just not yet

Love the doors and tatty wall paper - looks like something of the set of a Hollywood production - very American.

I agree with everybody, great job! The wallpaper really adds a touch. Do you plan to add some interior detailling? A console with a dead disc-jockey would be awesome! A few LPs scattered across the floor could also be interesting (and sooo easy to make). Anyway, great job as it is.

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden

Thanks all.

@ Sir Dryden : I'm thinking about some degree of interior. A desk /reception for one. A microphone, some turntables and scattered vinyl would indeed be nice. Maybe some LP-covers on the wall.

@ Sangennaru : Can't say. I bought it from Antenociti : http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/3mm-white-foamed-pvc.html

Radio Stations aren't all built next to antennae, you could but a small dish on the roof pointing somewhat horizontally towards an off table antenna. It's called a STL, or studio transmitter link. That way you can get it on the table quicker.
...Sorry, I like alot of back story to scenery.

Looking good. I like it better than the Plasticville one.
Are you going to use it for zombies?

Yep and somewhere in the (distant) future for post-apocalyptic games.

How did you cut the clear plastic for the door without it splintering?
