Witchtown - Joker's appearance (upd. 20.03 - p.40)
« Reply #585 on: 20 March 2016, 01:53:38 PM »
Another Sunday after another round of Lead Painters League :) This time let me to introduce you to Joker, the crime genius of Witchtown, and some of his henchmen. Joker is represented by a very nice figure by Guild of Harmony and is a prefect Fantasy joker, evil, twisted and just cool.

Every good scene needs (if possible) something small and this time I've assigned this role to this lovely little halfling (Marauder? Citadel? no idea..).

Now some though guys, Marauder Landsknecht ogres:

Another Marauder ogre and Foundry Great Orcs (by Kev Adams)

And the LPL entry picture:

Just to give you some views of the bridge (lovely painted by Jan Gross (Lt.Hazel) for me):

And finally some photos of the figures without background:

An absolutely extraordinary project you have going here - whimsical and beautifully executed.  A delight.  I love how the Joker's mercenary guards are non-human landsknechts, in fashionable clothing for the 16th century.

Lovely work again, Alex.
Beautifully painted, well chosen, figures to make another great scene for the LPL.
Pure eye-candy at its best!
 :-* :-*

(Still too many of the buggers for my liking, though... >:D ;))

Brilliant. Love the colour scheme of the Joker. :)

The halfling's familiar - I might have one around here myself. I thought it was a Citadel C11, but it's not on that particular page of SoL.

Thank you, Metternich! Finally I was able to collect and to finish all the Marauder Landsknecht ogres. Going to go make some photos of the whole gang on the next updates.

Come on, Paul, only seven newly painted figures! it's nothing compared to my last round  :D

Thanks! I've found him, Marauder Halfling Militia:

Excellent thread. Your painting and the environment you present the minis in are really outstanding.
I like the Joker and his little friend, but the Marauder ogres are pure childhood gold.
They seem to go surprisingly well twith the Foundry mercs too.  :)

Witchtown - Meanwhile in the dungeons (upd. 27.03 - p.41)
« Reply #598 on: 27 March 2016, 08:51:25 PM »
For the third week of the LPL I've decided to go with some beastmen. They were waiting long enough for a paint job on my desk and I just was in the mood for some not-human miniatures. And I had a plan, I wanted to have something big and heavy in the middle of the scene and so I ordered that Bull Horned Gargoyle statue, it should look like an entrance into the deeper grounds of the dungeon and my Beastmen charging out of it. Preparing for the final photo I've almost gave up this original concept because of this picture. I loved it because of its dynamic but as not all the figures are moving and the Bull statue came out of the focus I've decided not to take it:

The figures are a wild bunch in this scene. The giant and the wild boar are from Reaper, the female leader is from Heresy, the Troll is from GW, the other minis are older Citadel figures. In this scene you also can see two other trolls behind of the giant, these are from RAFM, but they didn't manage it into the final picture.

and the final (LPL) picture:
