Thanks. I've a feeling the dog supplies the brains, nose and talent and the goblin is more his pet translator. Brown skin is the way to go for goblinoids. (Almost wrote Greenskins then, but, well, that'd be a lie!)

I've not been slacking (well I sort of have), but have got 5 of my goblin knights painted, plus a horde of snotlings (lesser goblin) that i've not taken photos of yet.

The inspiration for the paint scheme of these guys comes from the Goblin Knights from The Labyrinth.

Hope you like them, now if only there were more models with the sort of quirkiness that the Labyrinth goblins have.

Yeah man, sweet stuff. :)

It was this board that inspired me to make my terrain tile and have the top two thirds of the pines able to seperate from the lower trunk.

Do you have a side view of the mounts?

Lovely models and a superb board wil be pinching some of your ideas foe my Runequest boards.
For quirky Froudian Goblins Rafm did one pack of Chaos Goblins, No pictures I am afraid but I used to own them and they were superb http://www.rafm.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=RAF&Category_Code=SCG
Also check out Imbrian Arts for some more beautiful quirky Goblins http://www.imbrianarts.com/International/International/goblins.html

Thankyou and it's nice to be a inspiration. I've been slowly modeling some Labyrinth inspired boards as well, but will show photos when there's actually something to see.
I've found out that the goblin knights are from Harlequin minis, now available from Blacktree. They have a coupe of photos on their website:

If they're not good enough I'll take some of mine.

And thanks for the links Elysium, those from Imbrian Arts are fantastic and just perfect for Labyrinth like goblins.

Thanks for the photos, Duncan. I just wanted to get a better idea what the mounts looked like...they're cute, little critters.

Done a few more minis. I had thought of entering LPL with them, but thought better of it as I wasn't sure  I'd manage to keep the pace up, so I decided not to try to enter so that someone else who can hold the pace doesn't have to compete with me at least for a place amongst the lucky 50 in our illustrious competition.

Anyway, a few of the minis I'd thought of entering in LPL are now on the way:

First a snotling horde, some lovely characterful little minis based on 15mm bases. They'll be perfect for trying out horde warbands in Skulldred.

Next are three adventurers. Gillette the Blademistress (from Reaper I think); Asid Jess the Bard (Grenadier, from The Terrain Warehouse) and last but not least Squint the Dark Elf Crossbowman (more properly a villian than an adventurer; Marauder/Citadel)

(This is also my first attempt at altering the colour balance in my photos, I think they're an improvement)

COOL LOOKING BABE; all the rest of the Crew are cool looking also..in a different sort of way. The brushwork & basing are up to your normal Oh-So-High standards. VERY WELL DONE!

The Snotlings...does that sound like an ethnic slur to anyone but moi?...have given moi an idea/some inspiration. I have a pile (literally) of the Little Guys (doesn't that sound better than Snotlings?) lying fallow in some box; they soon may start infesting my Spooky Woods Project. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks, and you're welcome. Yes snotlings does sound a bit of a racial slur, but they're only little so who's going to complain ;). To be honest I have thought of renaming them Gremlins, Bogarts or Brownies. Though Fairies could be funny with a certain quote that comes to mind:
'It bit me'
'What do you expect fairies to do?'

COOL, Duncan...more Labyrinth-like ideas. The Little Guys would look wonderfully strange with faerie wings. GREAT IDEA!

First I need to say I love the way this is going - to see none green snottlings makes me regret selling mine last year!

Hope you like them, now if only there were more models with the sort of quirkiness that the Labyrinth goblins have.

Have you thought of teaming them up with the Empire or Devanu from the World of Twilight?

Sorry I missed that Goblin cavalry first time round - top knotch!  8)

The adventurers and villain are very nice too but I do have a soft spot for those little snotties!
