Customizing Warzone Plastic
« on: 13 October 2011, 11:51:33 PM »
Is there a way to customize the Warzone plastic figures?
Their arms are much smaller than GWs.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Here are some that I've done, depending on what you're aiming to do with them they might give some ideas.

From Left to right: 1. standard trooper constructed out of box; 2. mixed with GW Kroot and Lizardman parts; 3. standard construction but with Hasslefree head and chopped and repositioned the arms; 4. Added spacers (small disks of plasticard) into the torso and thighs to make it taller, added GW chaos head and Catachan arms with Hasslefree weapon; 5. Hasslefree head and lower arms swopped out with plastic tubes to make them longer and added GW Lizardman hands; 6. and last but not least, shorten legs and torso (removing a thin sliver from the middle of the legs and torso and then gluing them back together) with GW Kroot arms and greenstuffed head.

Hope that can help a bit,
Duncan

Duncan, those are somevery lovely and inspiring figures, but I am afraid that Tge Grey Ghost is asking after Warzone conversions, and those are Void models. :)

Grey Ghost, the Warzone plastics are eminently customizable, even if the plastic is a little harder than the usual stuff. I ve taken a saw to some of my Imperial Regulars and removed the arms and shoulder plates, allowing them to be replaced with, say, Cadian arms. They are very mutable figures, and to my mnd there is little you cannot do with them. The price ain't bad either. :)

I don't have any pics of my own conversions, but if you do a search for Warzone on this very forum, and maybe at Dakka Dakka as well, you should find some examples of what can be done with them.

Yes Duncan, they are *very* nice. I really like the highlights on your black armor? I don't want to hijack this thread-is there any way you could share your technique in a new thread?
