Thor would have been next...

Unfortunatly, I don't have this fig for now. But I'll buy it for sure. This one will be a really good base to work on, no doubt :

Not speaking of the marvel figures I already have to paint (professor X, Jean Grey, Hulk, Blade, Dr Strange, Black Panther, hobgobelin,etc...) on my wishlist of marvel super hero and villains miniatures, I've got Wolverine, Submariner, Ironman, Thor, Cyclops, Tornade, Mysterio, Octopus, Sandman, Juggernaut and Magneto.

Stills a lot of figures to paint, I'm afraid.

EDIT : I made some research about the figures I don't have, some of them are too expensive for plastic minis (certainly because of rare, unique or whatever ranking), so I believe...I'll make my own customs. I already got (like almost everyone here I bet) a big box of plastic and lead junk ready to be re-sculpted  lol

ANd if it's not suficient, I'll go for dedicated metal super heroes figures...Since they are cheaper than some of those rare heroclix references.

Great stuff all around! I had no idea that those figures had such detail hiding under all of the factory paint jobs. You've done an incredible job painting them.

New figs are on the way :

Basic coats are done for Kingpin and Pyro, I just started Doom's mantle.

I also did the flames on Pyro (drybrush technic).  Stills a lot of wrok, but progressing ;)

To be continued tommorow !

They are all looking great!
The flames are very well done , as is the shadowing on Doom's cloak.

I must show this thread to a friend of mine who is Marvel mad and only just getting back into painting after some years playing house husband.
He will love it!

Great work, sundayhero!
Love it!

Many thanks !

I added some drybrush on Doom's cloak, and I varnished the flames on Pyro (using vallejo game mate varnish, wich is usefull not for final varnish process (I use Arts supplies for that), but to improve drybrush effects aspect....Can't explain why, but it appears smoother to my own eyes.  lol

I also painted almost all basic coats on each figure, and made some washes on them. Tommorow will be the funniest part of the job in my opinion : highlights and detailing.

On Doom it will be the first time iI try non-metallic painting. I started with a base of quite dark grey, then I applied a wash of black ink + Future floor (50/50, not to make a shade but to fill the hollows only), and then I plan to use a mix of drybrushing and classic painting to higlight and detail.

And of course, same "sort of cell shading" kind of effect, lining everything in black.

Hi,

Here's the last stages of paint on the 3 minis. I 'm reworking on Pyro flames, since someone told me that my drybrush was inverted.

I almost finished Kingpin, needs just a few tweaks on it.

Last time I made "tabletop" speed painting, I painted 42 figures in 20days, and I had a full time job in the same time  lol

So I guess this time I'm not so fast...It's more difficult to be really fast not using speed painting technics like stain. And the last time, I painted a lot of groups of same kind of figures (like 6orcs + 1 chaman, for example), it's also faster than painting individuals.

Your painting style suits these miniatures perfectly.  I am really impressed at the end result...even if I don't necessarily like all of the miniatures.

Kingpin is excellent...the white especially...lovely and flat with just the right amount of shading.

The fire is improving as well...and don't feel too upset with getting things the wrong way around...even GW gets it wrong with fire sometimes!

I am really enjoying this topic and am looking forward to seeing what comes next :).

Thanks for the comments !  ;)

I just finished Kingpin. Here's some pics of it.

The 2 other figures will be finished today, perhaps I'll have enough time to start the 3 super ladies today.

To be continued  lol

Pyro completed  !

Now I have to finish Doctor Doom...Toughest job of the 3, because of the non metallic painting (not so good, to be honest...)

to be continued
