Had Guy Fawkes succeeded?( Train Finished and Painted 30/8-pic heavy)

On November 5th 1605 Guys Fawkes was captured guarding the gun powder that was supposed to blow up the Houses of Parliment in London. Apparently there was a letter to the authorities detailing the plot that lead to his arrest and eventual execution, but what would have happened if they hadn't?

The 5th of November is celebrated every year in this country as 'Guy Fawkes Night' where we make up effigies of the man and burn it on a bonfire, also letting off a bundle of fireworks.

But this thread is more about building models representing the afterath of the plot rather than an alternative history....



....It's suppose to be Big Ben. Destroyed of course! I always had the notion to build it. It may be useful for future wars games or even War of the World games. This is only the basic
shape without the top most part of the tower. My biggest problem I'm going to have is how to do the actual clock.





The way I see it, I have two options. Number one is to build all the really fiddly bits four times(one for each face) or number two use a photograph for the face. Anybody got Amy other ideas?

The original Houses of Parliament did burn down (by accident, rather than design) in 1834.  JMW Turner made a series of paintings about it.









The only bit that survived was what is now called Westminster Hall.

But do not despair!  Your ruined clock tower is ideal for V for Vendetta and any number of British post-apocalyptic settings.

there was a Channel 4 documentary that had some maps and plans of the parliament as well... also try and find the one the BBC did about the bomb blast with the Hamster... was shown on one of the Discovery's recently.... that had a lot of rough images of what the main building would have looked like...

Since this was the state opening of Parliament, it would have been in the House of Lords.  present would have been the royal family, all the MPs, Lords and Bishops.  So the entire ruling elite of the country would have been killed in one fell swoop...............
