Ah well, it seems my secrets out....

http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/forum/Blah.pl?m-1321554441/s-15/

There's now a deal in place for Ainisty Castings to produce Jimbibby and myselfs design when it's finished!!   :o I'm really excited about this! This is the first time I've been involved in anything like this! No pressure then, eh?

Jims making the design for the original clock faces and I'll get the tower part finished. So thanks to everyone involved, including the people on this forum for your constant suggestions! I'm hoping that will continue because I think I may be getting caught up in the detail and I need to know when to stop!

I'm kind of worried, now that I know this is going to be produced, that theres not going to be enough detail........or I'm I taking things too far? Here's my reference photos...

As you can see, you could probably spend the rest of your life going into detail on this, so how far would you take it? For example, there's roses and leaves on the weathervane. Do I try to sculpt that too?

Thanks again everybody!!!

Are you going to be able to cast the weather came. Is it worth doing?

Looking great so far Andy  :-*

How did you do the brass etch? I've never done anything with that before. Did you have the brass etch made specifically for the mechanoids or was the brass etch a way to copy some of your finer detail? I'm just thinking if it would better suit some of the parts I'd love to be able to make......

I'm just thinking, Andy, if you'd rather have more detailed roof edging rather than the serrated edging I've glued in place? As well as that the weathervane might Benefit from it?

The brass etching was done from a piece of artwork. basically you do a CAD drawingof what you need then the machine etches in brass and cuts out the finished pieces, dead awesome. I have these cemetery gaters done the same way

so if you can draw it we can produce it!

Congratulations on getting this masterpiece on the market. Well done! It's more than worthy.

In my humble opinion I wouldn't go too nuts with the detailing and the weathervane. As it is at the moment it's still an amazing piece so any additions are a bonus. It is a ruin afterall so perhaps bits would have fallen off or been damaged. Maybe even a simpler weathervane will do, I used to work in offices near Big Ben and until today I hadn't really noticed there was that much detail on it! Looking at artists impressions of a post apocalyptic London there's a fair bit of detail missing from the tower but it still looks good.
Don't!

Wait, do you have the machine for making etched brass stuff? that's great!

Is it possible to make custom pieces?
