15mm conversion / sculpting project 23.11
« on: November 20, 2011, 07:29:38 PM »
so I am trying to conquer a new area in the hobby. I have never sculpted nothing more than a few base decorations. Now that I have my 15mm rogue trader project, and I need some chaos space marines I decided to try doing a few conversions myself. These I managed to do today. Only helmets done and still need some finishing touches.

I used these miniatures

The following minor conversions took hours from me ;P. Still learning how to use the tools and how green stuff is used.

I tried to do a whole skeleton face but ended up doing a upper part face plate. It was way too hard to try to do the jaws with teeth... but I will try again!

a little update. I added shoulder pads and shoulder joints. Also I tried to make the face better

still some work to do with this.

I think they are really good for 15mm. I like the skull best. I could not sculpt that well in 28mm.

Now the figure is almost done. Still need to fix the face. I will make it a skull with a closed jaw. I'm pretty happy with the results. The pose could be better but, this will have to do.

To the next ones, I will only add shoulder pads and leave the helmet as is. Also adding them makes pose conversions easier.

Thats awsome. 15mm RT sounds like a great idea.
