Amazon conversion project
« on: 13 May 2016, 06:34:27 PM »
A few years back, I had done artwork for the ruleset Aryiki, and helped design Eureka's Amazon cataphracts. And I did paint some up for my own games:

I had tried to collect a more fantasy-looking Amazon army at the same time, but that petered out due to the high price and the fact that I didn't find much consistency with what I could get.

Fast forward to the past two years, and my gaming club started talking about doing a Trojan War campaign. I decided that I was going get that Amazon army done, and it would be based on the cultures that inspired the Amazon myth, the Scythians, Parthians and such forth. And I figured the best way to build up the cavalry was to use the Wargames Factory Persian cavalry as a basis, and cast up some female torsos. It has taken me some time, but it's now done and I've now had my baptism in regards to resin casting.

These are looking great (some close ups possible?).

And I love those Eureka Amazons - so thanks for influencing their look.

Finished painting them. I honestly should give them more details, but this is fine for gaming purposes.
