Atomic music
« on: 24 November 2011, 07:58:57 AM »
Hi all
I didn't have the time ,yesterday, to make some pictures of the new stuff I've painted but I found that cd in the net today.
http://www.bear-family.de/index.php?sid=057dfe4eb1520c07d7eead21abe97d3b&cl=details&anid=0a9d3e251940d01ad9043071abeec9cd&listtype=search&tcalbumtitel=atomic%20platters

do someone have the cd and can tell me if its good or bad ?

I think it can be a good musik for a gaming day.

I don't own it, but you can get a full track listing on this site somewhere.. the site itself is good too!  ;)

From what I remember there were few tracks which I could even recall and I'm a fan of music of the time... it's a lot of songs, but the price?!!  Buy some 'Music of the fifties' CD's out of the bargain box in your local supermarket, they are likely to be kinder on your ears and wallet!

 :)

It sounds an iteresting compilation (though I'm not sure about Mike & Bernie Winters :D) - just a tad too expensive for my liking.

Try a search on you tube for attack warnings like 'Conelrad', 'Duck and Cover' etc...

and then paste the Youtube link in the box here and it converts the video into an MP3 sound file you can then download.

You Tube also has the whole of the documentary 'Atomic Cafe', so perhaps it would be possible to convert that to a sound file, it has some of the music on 'Atomic Platters' and other stuff. It's an excellent film to watch btw, I love it!

 ;)

While not Atomic, there are these downloadable 'discs' called 'Songs the Cramps Taught Us', compilations of the most obscure rock n' roll, doo-wop and surf imaginable. All stuff mentioned by the Cramps themselves in interviews:

old school Tall Boys/Meteors...

I'm getting old, so the raw guitars don't appeal as much any more...

Personal favorites of mine are the Gories, the Mummies, Supercharger, the Oblivians. the Trashwomen were great too.....

@Grimm: Re: Cramps, the link I gave is not just that record (I've seen it, great cover design) but enough material for at least ten records!!
