You haven't thought about a job making aircraft recognotion models for the US Army Airforce by any chance?

No, no, haven't you heard? To get a defense contract these days, it's essentially necessary to produce an awful product and be devoid of talent, not the other way round...

;)

Love the plane. Looking at this marvellous piece of work, I think I should really look into doing something like that myself for some pulp gaming (now, where did I leave those Wapiti plans...).

Thanks everyone for following this thread.  Its been a fun build.  Hopefully someone will try their hand at scratchbuilding.

I did manage to find some suitable figs.  I used one of the Copplestone pilots (I added a Mae West life preserver) and used a USMC vehicle gunner from Company B ( removed his helmet and added pilot hat).  The gunner should have been armed with a .50 rather than the .30 but I can't be fussy.  The base is made from green stuff.  This is my first attempt at simulated water to match my garbage bag ocean - maybe I'll stick to wood carving!

Great work John an inspiration for us all. Maybe Brent will get the idea that floatplanes are the way ahead.

Cheers,

Helen
Best wishes,

 :o :o :o :o :o

What a great build!

Some serious talent. I have no idea how I let this one slip past me until now.
(Especially after your sub-chaser. I must pay more attention!)

Geniius!
 :-* :-* :-*

And this is a line I will definitely be trying;
My wife is asking me "are you working on your plane again?" >:(  I explain to her that this hobby costs nothing - essentially saving money by not spending any ;)

(Not sure that I wont just get one of those looks, though!)
