Now that the "Build Something 2017" contest is over I can post some additional images of my recent board sections.

Here's the "Build Something" entry:

Detail Shots:

The layout breaks down into three large two-bay sections, and I made three computer terminal endcaps.

The engineers are from the Astropolis range, the removable dead spacer is a Mantic Deadzone zombie that has been reposed and converted with Wargames Factory skeleton parts.

That looks spectacular! Love the whole thing. The story told by that pod tipped over and the dead body is perfect. Reminds me so much of the tiles from Space Hulk.

Very cool. I love the painting you did on this, it really looks like what a space hulk looks like in my head.

What a fantastic piece! Your painting is amazing on this! So many wee bits and pieces to cover and it all looks brill! :-* I don't think I quite realised how big the pods were! Can we get a full shot of this bit added to full Space Hulk board?

I love your Space Hulk stuff and this is another brilliant piece. It's very reminiscent of Space Hulk from the days before it all seemed to get overcomplicated!  Beakies would be very much at home here.

Thank you all, appreciated. The 'Build Something' was a great experience and got me interested in adding some other things to the hulk.

Can we get a full shot of this bit added to full Space Hulk board?

Yes, my son has been begging to play Space Hulk, he and I will lay out all the sections in a couple days and I'll get a photo. Because Hirst went with 1.5" tiles the layout takes a LOT of space. I don't think I have ever put them all out, although I have played the largest official mission. So it needs to happen :)

Beakies would be very much at home here.

My dream is that GW will come out with a new set of beakies. They have released sets of Mark III and Mark IV armor (I think that is what they are) in the Horus Heresy sets, so I think it could happen someday. As I have said before if they released a set of Mark VI it would be printing money :)

Excellent work my Friend,
Both from a scratchbuilding ideas point of view & painting wise.

Would love to see the wholes setup , I imagine you'd need a snooker table for this  :D :D :D.

Absolutely gorgeous work, and I love the little narrative scene too!  :-*

Can I ask what the pods were originally please? They look to have some interesting bits on them.

Thanks :)

The pods are Mega-Blok 'Plasma Tech' toys.

They're actually very plain, the maneuvering thrusters were made from a Hirst Arts part and a '1x1 cone' Lego, then cast in resin.

Gosh, well I'm glad I asked now - I would never have guessed the source of the pods!  lol

I did recognise that you'd added some extra bits though (plus Lego-spotting is always fun ;).

Thanks for your reply.

What a gorgeous spread. Even I, who do not relish WH 40K, feel an urge to play this one.

Excellent work! Was the body scratchbuilt?
