I used studet grade acrylics and it worked well. I just had to thin out the second coat to make sure it got into all the nooks and crannies.

Yes the yoga mat is an inspiration. I'll need to try that myself. Looking forward to seeing more of this progect.

It's been a while since I did any work on this board. However, things have been chugging along slowly.
First I made a wharf. I made the pilings from a piece of dowel and some greenstuff (the rope). Then I made a quick mould using Pinkysil and cast a few. The deck is made from two small sheets of 6mm balsa.

Added a few tiles and a stp made from Hrst Arts moulds, painted up some water and stuck it all together.
Since doing all that (yesterday) I've also put a coat of glass-coat on the water and I'll get some pics when it's done.

I think, I'll have to start scratchbuilding some Victorian city buildings so we can get playing quicker!

No it's smaller than the club tables. The size in the pic is 3' x 4' and there is a second 3' x 18" section that attaches at the back for a full size of 3' x 5.5'. The idea being to fill it with buildings and other scenery. More of a Victorian skirmish board so the need for a full size board really required. Having said that all it requires are a couple of extra boards to bring it up to size.

It has been ages since I posted anything on this thread.

The warerfront itself has progressed and I need to get a couple of nice pics. There's still alot of work to do but it mainly involves buildings... This is where I've had problems!!!
Until I saw a thread in the Workshop Forum and saw what Papa Midnight and others were doing with polystyrene.
