Olli did a Gladiator Game and he has rules for it. Ask him !
Björn
It is Welf. This games is based on the old game from specialist games in their mordheim-section. I think four years ago at the Tactica he showed it. You play with moving card for all the possible gladiators. Played on a hex-arena.
The rules called "pit fighter" and you can find it here: http://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=pit%20fighter%20mordheim&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CE0QFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.games-workshop.com%2FMEDIA_CustomProductCatalog%2Fm1340002_Pit_Fighter.pdf&ei=EsI7T-3_E43YsgauqKHcBg&usg=AFQjCNE5YSJ3dpc9fsrz5SLhCRMgxtpANg&cad=rja

The rules for Red Sand, Blue Sky seem interesting, although I haven't played them yet.

I went through a gladiator period some years ago and the best rules I've played were Habet, Hoc Habet by Flagship Games (now Scale Creep).  The rules were fun to play and had an excellent campaign system where the players were Lanista buying slaves (there were various qualities of slave you could buy, although you never truely knew what you were getting until you actually bought them), running single matches, multi-gladiator fights, beast fights, chariot races... it was all there.  Gladiators would suffer wounds (different hit locations determined where and how they affected performance) or get better at fighting, you'd make money on fights and could wager with other players on the outcome.  A great club game system to get into.

Seems there are dozens of Gladiator games out there. I think, I'll create a new thread/sticky for them.

RSBS is unbeatable for solo playing and now the second edition has improved the tactics of gladiators as well as streamlined the 1st ed. ruleset. I recommend it.
Here you can see a full campaign I played using RSBS 1 ed.

Amazing show, Blacksmith.

Don't worry, that can not be Spartacus.
Spartacus was fighting as an Murmillo, not an Dimachaerus ;)

Arena Games is what we play...

http://www.wargamevault.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=3222&products_id=80461

It is fast and easy and incredibly fun. Especially on beer-sodden Saturday nights at gaming conventions when everything else is winding down.

It is Welf.

I did not run the game on my own, I had two magnificent partners, Alex and Joachim, who both invested at least as much work and time in the project as I did. Let's not forget them!

Ruleswise it is true we used Pit Fighter with a few house rules. To start, we replaced the Undead with the Dimachaerus, the Chaos Warrior with the Secutor, the Orc with the Mirmillo, the Witch Elf with the Velite and the Skink with the Retiarius. We dropped the Empire Man.
But we had let's of other minor rule changes over the years. Anybody interested, PM me, but don't expect an answer before the Tactica is over. There is still plenty of work to be done.
