Airfix Robogear

I have a vague memory of seeing some conversion ideas for Airfix Robogear kits - spaceport tenders, cranes & utility vehicles etc, but cannot remember where I saw them. Any clues anyone ?

(The reason being that some Airfix Robogear has started appearing in January sales and I was wondering if it might be worthwhile)

I'd like to see these as well, as I just picked up the boxed starter set for £10 from the local "retail outlet". With a bit of work, it'll form the basis of some Weird War stuff, both US and German, so there's plenty of scope in there.

Actually, it's not a bad deal anyway. Eight vehicles, modular terrain pieces, infantry, rules, paints and brushes. If anybody has kids, it'd be a good game to get them into, and you can play straight from the box as it's all snap together plastic.

One caveat is the scale seems to be on the "heroic" side, more in line with 40K than anything else. If you're planning to kitbash it like me, then beware of the scale differences, especially if you're going to use it alongside more historical minis.

Other than that, I heartily recommend it.  :mrgreen: It was like double christmas when I opened my box.

I bought 4 Starter sets in the January sales last year for £5 each (Tesco).   :mrgreen: They had previously been £29.95!  
I sold one that covered the total outlay and the other 3 have been sat in my loft ever since, because they will of course be very useful... sometime in the future, ...for something..... :roll:

The Starter sets have 8 vehicles and a set of Hex Platformers in them, so lots of potential....for something... :

Good price I found the starter set for £12.99 in one of the local pound shops and and I thought that was a bargain. I've got a load of walkers and tracked stuff that I paid about £2 per pack for, great of all sorts of games, post apoc, WWW, Orky gubbins etc....

I bought three of them and have built one as a dozer for my sci-fi towns:





I just left the goofy arms off and added some interior details. The others I intend to use as salvage vehicles.
