They must be large bases?

The stake bases are just for the stakes- If the unit was deployed without the stakes then those bases would not be on the table top.

I hope that makes sense? I've got a cracking headache

Thanks Phil  .....moments in time is a great summary. i remember at the time, finding any excuse to take the army to the club, despite not having a game on..... not to show off, just to get some sort of indication of how people felt about the basing
