The best 28mm tanks????
« on: 11 March 2012, 05:53:04 PM »
Dear All

I am currently putting together two forces, British & Fallschrimjager, for the infantry based Rules of Engagement. ROE also allows one to field the odd tank, transport and AT gun. However, I'm relatively new to WW2 28mm and would be interested to hear your views on the who makes the best vehicles and armour.

Salute is is just over the horizon and I'm in need of some retail therapy!

Hi Dave, for quality I would consider JTFM models. By far the very best in 1/56th scale.

Chat to Jeff via e-mail so he can ensure any item you are considering purchasing is available from the UK stockist for Salute.

Cheers,

Helen
Best wishes,

You can get great tanks, softskins and other vehicles from several manufacturers.

Die Waffenkammer: http://www.diewaffenkammer.com/

Warlord Games: http://www.warlordgames.com/

Company B: http://www.companyb.biz/

All have a varied selection of good vehicles, tanks, softskins and transports :)

Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar

I'd definitely check Warlords more recnet offerings ... the StugIII and Sherman variations are excellent. The Panther also has the best tracks of the bunch.

Warlord and JFTM would cover just about everything and are perfectly compatible.

Our StuG.III 3 in 1 kit and Sherman selection are very good and the tracks on our Panther are very very detailed now.  :D

... and thus all the more compatible  :D

Thanks for the heads-up on that Jeff - I had no idea (but I do have three of the older style ones).

Hiya,

I have a huge collection of Warlord vehicles and I must say they are the best around.
Solid casting no air bubbles and sturdy builds.
Thing with Warlord is that they dont seem to take care with packing in all the loose bits.
Out of 40 vehicles bought from them 15 had parts missing. Parts were replaced but still....

JTFM does have a lot of variations but the castings are very fragile and do have air bubbles in them. The JTFM vehicles arent as sturdy as the ones from Warlord.

Hope it helps...

I agree with Helen. Die waffenkammer has most definitely the most detailed models and highest in quality. Bought a sherman from both warlord and jeff and jeff's came out on top. Big time.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaah !
