Thanks for the info, Paul. That does seem like a SPLENDID size for some nicely sceniced games.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

You are most welcome, sir.
 :)

I did think that was a particularly good set up Mason, well done sir ;)

The cordite is clearing, there are bodies on the ground and the smell of blood hangs heavy in the air. For some, their lives are over - whatever their hopes and aspirations were dashed to the wind like so much detritus. For others, their existence is irrevocably altered, life-changing injuries leaving them less than they were before. Survival all the same, but at what cost? Only time will tell.

But is it the men of M.O.O.S(E) who have been victorious, or has the cold, slimy hand of the deviant grasped ascendency?

Only Mason knows. Sit closer to the fire, banish the shadows gathering in the corners and draw your coat tighter about your shoulders; maybe for the price of a beer old man Mason might yet tell you of the events which transpired in Foulmouth that fateful evening...

(he really will consider divulging most things if you ply him with beer, you know :D)

No one has offered beer yet, so that plan of yours did not work....
 ;D

I shall be posting up a brief report, of sorts, over the weekend along with a few piccies when I get time.
Please be patient with me.
 :)

Thank you, Amigo.
 :)

Strange Aeons is played on a 3x2 foot board, which is another added bonus with the game, as it is easy to set up and you can vary the board each time quite easily without having the need for too much scenery each time.

Look great Paul. Also a handy size for a standard UK dining table  8)
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74

I'd be well up for something like this but it's not going to happen with my group. I was pushing it with Old West! Envious!

OH BABY!

OK, then, here we go with a brief report of Team Theydon's venture further along the coast towards Foulmouth....

Following their encounter with the 'smugglers' in the abandoned fishing village the team were looking urgently for a telephone.

Their recent disturbing discovery of what appeared to be normal local fisherman living alongside strange, mutated fish-like creatures that vaguely resembled man was bad enough.
Couple that with the fact that the creatures in this unholy alliance had tried their best to kill them just about put the icing on the cake!
Could things get any worse?
( ;))

They had searched the area of the abandoned village in the hope of finding some way to communicate their discovery to HQ.
Unfortunately, the place seemed all but deserted for some years, apart from the strangely well kept warehouse, which contained obviously smuggled goods along with evidence that firearms were in abundance in the area....

Could these strange fishlike creatures have formed a partnership with a local smuggling ring?
Well, stranger things had happened, hadn't they?

Having decided that heading back the way that they had come would be pointless, they continued along the coastline in the hope of finding an inhabited place.

After a couple of miles of trekking through the marshy ground that dominated this part of the coast they spotted a lonely church in the distance.
Surely the Vicar would have a telephone, or at least know where the nearest one could be found......if there was a Vicar, of course, and the church had not been abandoned as well.

Fortunately, the Vicar was indeed around.....
Unfortunately the 'Vicar' was not exactly what they were expecting...

....and neither were his his 'congregation'!

The creatures in the church were obviously in the process of removing items from the former holy place as they appeared to be trying to quickly load crates onto a few vehicles that were parked nearby.

As the team moved into the adjoining graveyard, weapons ready, they were quickly confronted by foul robed beings, who moved with a strange hopping gait, and were toting shotguns!

A vicious firefight ensued as the filthy, fishy-smelling creatures moved in, determined to destroy the team whilst the rest of their number attempted to remove the crates from the reach of the Ministry men.

Fortunately for the forces of the Crown the firefight went their way, resulting in most of the strange creatures being blown into ragged chunks of malformed flesh.

The team discovered an ancient looking crate in the graveyard, covered in a mysterious script or alien form of hieroglyphs.
Upon opening the box the team found it to filled with odd tomes in an unknown language and grotesque statues that appeared to be made from gold!

Having killed or chased off those that had sought to stop them, the team set about searching the old chapel....

...unfortunately for them it appeared that the gunfire had been heard as they soon heard the sound of whistles coming from the direction of the abandoned fishing village.

Time to see if they could start one of those cars......

I know that it was not a proper report but I only grabbed a couple of pictures at the time.
The story is continuing nicely, though, with the next game coming this evening.

Missing Link.... M.O.O.S.(E). Ministry of Occult Studies (England) UD:31/07
« Reply #3059 on: 31 July 2016, 02:20:44 PM »
Bullock painted up one of my 'alien apes' from my current Kickstarter as a Missing Link and sent me a picture of it.

Missing Link painted by Bullock.

The 'alien' variety are supposed to be painted more orange, like Orangutan, but he opted for a darker tone like a Sasquatch.
I am certainly going to paint a 'white' version too, to be used as a Yeti.

Now I am considering making a 'family' of them now....what do you think?
