Love what you have done with the miniature. It´s disgusting and kind of cute at the same time.

I have the RAFM shambler models from their Call of Cthulhu line too!  I think it's a great model, but would never have thought of adding the extra details like you've done.  Nice customization.

Wow that shambler is awesome! Great idea and execution on the scenery moss stuff!!!

Thanks, Mo!!

Great work there! I was thinking of adding some stuff to my Shambler also to give him more of that organic look.

Thanks, styx!

I already liked the something disturbing look of this miniature but with your additions it becomes definitely creepy. And I love that.

Thanks, Enethaeron!

Thanks for all the comments, chaps! Much appreciated.
It is really easy to do, so why not give it a go?
I think it helps the miniature achieve its intended look.
I used a product called 'underbrush' but any scenis material should work pretty well.
I now have the answer on how to finally complete my Fen Beast for my Elf Warband for Mordheim.

I got another couple of Lurkers finished yesterday, but I think that I had better put some effort into getting the AAR finished first.
I hope to post it later.

Right then, off to play around with the photos....

Shambler is looking great mate, coupled with your use of the underbrush for added detail and character brings him up a treat. Its the details like that that make a mini into a character rather than just a "figure"!

Great stuff as usual mate.

P.s. Hurry with the game report. Cant wait to hear how the campaign is going to pan out and also to get a sneak preveiw of what "Murphys Law" will be coming up against!

Nothing much to give away yet, mate.
It was Mr B's first game of SA, so he got the obligatory Cultists to fight.
Not to say that there wont be Cultists in the campaign... ;)

The Cover Up!
AAR.
Scenario- Fight!

The Ministry had been informed by the local Police that there was suspicion of Occult activity in the region surrounding Piddles Wood, in Dorset.
There were rumours of crop circles, mutilated livestock and other strange happenings in the local area.
Even the rumoured purchase of a Ouija board by the Vicar's housekeeper!

Ministry Agents had been sent in to try and locate the source of the trouble.
Their efforts seemed to point to the activities being centered around an old coaching inn, The Dirty Dog.
The team made haste to get to the place as quickly as possible to recover any evidence that they could, before it could be destroyed by the villainous miscreants!

As the team made their way across the fields to the public house they could see a pillar of smoke on the horizon.
Maybe they were too late!

The table as it was set up for the game.
The ruined building on the bottom right represented the burning remains of The Dirty Dog.
The Cultists can been seen just above the Inn waiting to ambush the Good Chaps of the Ministry!

The Cultists are gathered at the end of the street arming themselves and mumbling strange oaths.
They had received a tip-off that the men from the Ministry were on their way.....

Two of the craven scum even appear to be urinating against the wall of a local house!
Or were they just using cover to try and outflank our heroes?

The heroic Agents make their way up the street towards the smouldering building, utilising whatever cover they could on the way.

The leader of the team made his way up to a good vantage point to try and locate the Cultists. A conveniently situated balcony on a local house proved ideal for a better view of the street.

Meanwhile, the rest of his team were ordered forward into the cover of some barrels.

The Evil Cultists had not been idle, and had advanced under the cover of the smoke towards the forces of His Majesty.

The entire Cult had advanced forward, taking advantage of the careful of the Ministry men.

With the arrival of the Tommy-Gun toting Cultist, they were at full strength and ready to press home their attack.

An overview of the table, showing the advance of the Cultists.

The Tommy-gun toting Cultist risked a quick glance around the side of the parked van, trying to locate the enemy amidst the smoke, only to be met by fire from the forces of the Ministry. Forced back by the sheer volume of fire coming his way, he ducked back behind the van and readied his machine gun.

Taking a deep breath, the Cultist stepped from behind the van and let rip with a fusilade of shots at the Agents behind the barrels.

One of the Agents was felled in the hail of lead, collapsing to the ground, ominously silent!

At this point our intrepid photographer had to retreat to save own skin, but managed to take this shot of the remaining Agents as they backed off to regroup.

The Ministry men regrouped and pressed home their counter attack.
Their first victim was the Cultist who had taking down their comrade, who fell to a fusilade of .45 shots from the Leader of the team and the remaining Agent!
He was quickly followed by another Cultist who had foolishly stepped out of cover and attempted an attack on them, and was taken down, screaming, by the other member of the team.

As the leader of the team drew his sword and advanced on the Cult leader, who had emerged from cover, the other Agent felled the shotgun wielding Cultist who was taking cover across the street.

At this point the photographer emerged from hiding to capture the moment that the team leader advanced on the Cult leader wielding his sword in a vengeful manner.

After quickly dispatching the master, he carried on his charge and slew one his minions as well!

The Cultists were now lacking a leader, which would seriously stifle their ability to manouver.
They did manage to take out the remaining Agent, but were now in a precarious position with only one of them left on his feet!

With a hard choice to make, the Cult took a huge gamble on felling the Ministry leader and equalling things up, but failed miserably.
The Leader quickly charged the last standing Cultist, taking him out with ease.
After that, it was a simple matter of delivering the coupe de grace on the downed Cultists.......

Many apologies the missing pictures towards the end.
In the heat of the game, I forgot to take pictures and only remembered towards the end.
Sorry............. ::)

It certainly was!
In Strange Aeons a sword is a pretty tasty weapon choice, especially in the hands of a Character with 3 attacks!

So much so that all the guys are arming their characters with them at the first opportunity.
It seems it is becoming a piece of standard issue equipment for M.O.O.S.(E). Team Leaders!

The base of the table is just textured wallpaper.
The board itself and the basic process is described here:

The Forces of Truth, Justice, & the British Way have triumphed once more...that will teach the Miserable Ouija Board Loving Scum. COOL BATTLE REPORT & PHOTOS...all you need now is a mini that resembles Clive Barker.

Now I have to pull my finger out to do the report for the Mordheim game that was played on the same day!
That could be an effort.....

Stirling effort as usual, Mason! Really enjoyed acting as lurker in this one - was looking good till that ol' sword made an appearance! Was pleased for Marko though, not nice to get a beasting first time out!

Really looking forward to the start of this campaign. ;)
