It's Peter Lorre! Now you need the Sidney Greenstreet guy.

As if I dont have enough to do already!
 ;)

The Maltese Falcon - now there's a film! I can see you are a man of nice judgement, Mr DeafNala...

 :D

'MR' DeafNala now, is it?!

Casablanca is probably my favorite.

Saying that, Casablanca may give me some ideas for the Northern African setting that I intend to use for a future SA campaign.
I am building some Mos Eisley scenery next year for a Star Wars skirmish game using the SA rules, and the idea is to make the scenery as North African with a view to making some seperate parts that can be added on to represent the more futuristic elements of Mos Eisley.
Two birds with one stone.
 ;)

It seems that I do.
Thanks, Adam!

About time that I did some of my own..... ::)

Ooooooh!

 lol
Thanks, you Crazy Viking!

It is about time that I posted some of my own.
And I will...very soon.

I have some Cadets in North African uniforn to add tomorrow, courtesy of Blue in VT.
I have just finished rebasing them today.
Will take a pi tomorrow and post it.

After that, it is back to my own stuff, begining with a few few more zombies that are almost done.

Here are the final additions to the African Division at the time when they leave the shores of Blighty for the Dark Continent.

The Cadets, in Colonial Dress.

These were painted by Blue in VT, for LPL Season 5.
I thought they would fit perfectly into this project, especially as they are from the OOP Foundry 25mm range, the same as the earlier Cadets painted for Home Service. The perfect height to use as adolescent orphans of the Ministry!

A group shot of the African Division, as it arrives on the shores of North Africa, to follow...

"But what if we don't fight the wily Pathan, Sir?"

"NOT FIGHT THE WILY PATHAN! We've always fought the wily Pathan. Not fight the wily Pathan, indeed!"

Sorry; that's what popped into my admittedly strange mind when I first looked at the Lads. They are fine looking minis, BEAUTIFULLY painted & based. GREAT STUFF!

Thanks, Bert...I do the illusion with mirrors. The Maltese Falcon & old classics like it were the general run of movies on television when I was a boy; ergo, I'm much more familiar with the 30s & 40s than anything more recent.
Did you know Messrs Greenstreet & Lorre did nine films together? Casablanca is probably my favorite.

Man after my own heart, we must have both been children of the 70's perhaps? For me there is only one Holmes and Watson - Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce! :D

A deliberate reference to The Maltese Falcon, and Sidney Greenstreet's character in particular. Great film, one of Bogey's best.

Sorry to have veered off-topic...

Time for a group shot of the Ministry of Occult Studies (African Division).

This is the group of 13 (!) agents of the Ministry that has left the shores of Blighty for the warmth of Darkest Africa.
Their mission: To confront the Eldritch Horror manifesting on the Dark Continent.

They include all of the recently purchased miniatures and are joined by two of the Ministry's existing members, Alan, the Big Game Hunter, taking Chastity Inn-Dowt under his wing for a fresh start on a new continent.
I will be adding to them later with native members recruited to the service, beginig with some Turkish allies called upon by the Professor.

That is for the future, though.
For now, it is on to some more Lurkers, as I need to get as many as possible finished in the next month or so, as it is time to move onto another project.

Strange Aeons has grown well beyond expectations, and I need to take a break from it soon before I lose my sanity!

You have been warned...

They look crackin good! <been working on my British language>

I gather one English export has made it to your shores, Styx - a fella by the name of Jamie Oliver, who's a celebrity chef. When he likes something, it's 'pukka'. Not that I'm suggesting you use it! Another legacy of the British days of Empire, with language lifted from India.

If there's something which is trash or you don't like - you can call it 'pony'; short for the rhyming slang 'pony and trap'; I'll leave you to work out what trap rhymes with! Very little of Cockney rhyming slang has practical application in every day use, unless one wishes to sound like Dick van Dycke lol, but that's one piece of language which definitely sees everyday use! Especially applicable to Mason's dice rolling on Monday...

I think "cracking" is sufficient. "Cracking good" is probably tautology..... :)

You learn something new every day on LAF. I've lived here (England) for 66 years and never heard that before. I've heard "pony" used in slang for a monetary value (£25.00?) but not the rhyming slang meaning before.
