Bert certainly has a FINE LOOKING Group of Agents. To the right it looks like Bonny sans Clyde is keeping a wary eye on an Hasidic Rabbi. GREAT WORK, Bert!

Ah, thanks, mate you're really kind to say so. I'm never that happy at how shiny they look, but I won't leave a mini unvarnished - they take too much of a battering whilst being used. I keep meaning to sort out father de Betta's base, so that he fits in with the rest of the team (he was a kind gift from Mason). He'll be finished for next time!

Looking forward too seeing more action!!

Ok then.
Sorry for the delay.
 ::)

Back to the action....

As the team left the Church of Our Lady, having found it empty like the rest of the town, they decided to spread out and search for the local populace.
(Nooooo!!!, I hear you cry.....We were playing Free For All, so random deployment was used.  ;))

For the purposes of this game the Pumpkin-headed Scarecrows were using Zombie stats and rules and the Crowman was a Mad Scientist. And: Yes! He could inject Scarecrows to, hopefully, generate a Construct!

I will post the overhead view of the set-up again so that you can figure out where the Agents began the game.

Aubrey began the game behind the Chapel with the 'Doc' in close proximity.

The Maniac began perilously close to Aubrey, in the Barnyard with a Pumpkin Headed Scarecrow outside the fence.
Father deBetta can just be seen at the top of the picture, looking worried. Gloria Stitts, with her Tommy Gun, was on the other side of the Barn.

By the Graveyard, Betty was in trouble.

In the picture you can see that she has a Scarecrow nearby, with the Crowman and a Shambler not far away. What the picture does not show is the further two Scarecrows in her vicinity!
She was very unfortunate in her deployment, with most of the Lurker forces appearing near her.

Meanwhile Isaac found himself alone on the road with no-one else in sight.

Things began really badly for the Agents of the Realm.

Not surprisingly, considering the fact she was hopelessly surrounded, Betty was the first to be taken down.
Unfortunately for her, she fell to the ground Catatonic. The sheer terror caused by her first sighting of a Pumpkin-Headed Scarecrow ambling towards her proving too much, said Scarecrow easily dispatching her prone form.

The power of her Double-barrelled Shotgun would be sorely missed!

As Betty was succumbing to the Pumpkin-head, the Crowman ordered the Shambler to advance on Aubrey and the Doctor.
The Medic was the first to receiveits tender attentions, fainting at the awful stench that it exuded and being torn apart as he lay on the ground.
Seeing this Aubrey also failed his Resolve test and collapsed in fear to be removed in turn by the Crowman.
What was going on with the Thames Valley team?
Half the team gibbering in fear, before being removed from the game in the first turn!

The Thames Valley Division were in serious trouble.

Would they survive the Attack of the Killer Pumpkins?

To Be Concluded....

This is just like those old Flash Gordon or Rocketman episodes short, thrilling and ending with our heroes in mortal peril! Hurry up with the next episode  ;)

I love the "to be continued" ; it reminds me of old action movies, both silent & with sound...The Perils of Pauline spring to mind. They always ended with the Heroine dangling from a cliff, tied to the railroad tracks, about to endure a "fate worse than death" at the hands of some sneering, dastardly villain, generally in deep doodoo. It adds to the excitement.
The photos are TERRIFIC. Bert's Boys & Babes look GREAT in action as do the Forces of Unpleasantness. WONDERFUL STUFF!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Ok then.

Here it is:

We left it with the team from the Thames Valley down to three members and leaderless, having been surprised and cut down by the Crowman and his foul brood.

The remaining Agents were facing almost certain death.

How long would they last against this evil horde?

Gloria Stitts was the first member of His Majesty's forces to gain some semblance of revenge by gunning down the Scarecrow that was lurking by the Barn.

Unfortunately, the tables were soon turned again, as the Maniac decided to make short work of Father deBetta.
The poor clergyman was cut to pieces by the frothing madman.

Meanwhile the Crowman had performed one of his dastardly experiments and changed the 'head' of one of his charges for a 'running head'.
The, now transformed, Scarecrow followed its Master's orders and took off down the road to hunt down more loyal Agents of the Realm.

Meanwhile, the Crowman and his Shambler continued towards the Barn to try and surround the Thompson wielding Agent.

Brave, some would say mad, Isaac Kite left the cover of the van and made his way up the road to try and stop the advancing Scarecrow.......

..........opening fire with both pistols Isaac proceeded to blow its 'head' apart in a spray of fleshy pulp.

The Crowman responded by by 'altering' another Scarecrow, only to see it fall apart at his feet.
Obviously that 'head' was a duff 'un...

He also sent the Shambler after Isaac and the Madman into the Barn, ready to charge Gloria next turn.

Gloria seized the initiative however, and decided to head into the darkened building from whence the crazy cackling was issuing.
Focusing on the demented noise she opened fire with her trusty Thompson......

....to be rewarded by silence as the echoes of machine gun fire faded away.
Things were starting to look up for the team.

Isaac carried on his advance up the road intent on training his guns on the Crowman.
Seeing him coming the Shambler was set upon him and removed him from the equation.
Painfully!

That left Gloria as the Last Women Standing.

She knew things were desperate as she advanced towards the roadway and took up position behind the hedge.
Sighting down the barrel of the Thompson she took aim at the Shambler and opened fire......

...........as the dust cleared Gloria stared at the mess that was left on the roadway.
She had blown the Shambler apart!

Distracted by the remains of the Shambler she did not see the Crowman as he advanced upon her, sickle in hand and a mad, feral gleam in his eye.
(He had injected himself as a last desperate move, which had resulted in a +1 Con to his profile).

It had come down to a straight fight between the Crowman and Gloria Stitts.

Dropping the Thompson, she drew her Bowie Knife just in time as the mad fiend was already upon her.
Stabbing the knife deep in his chest she felt elation as the blade slipped between his ribs......only to feel it stop suddenly, an otherwordly shell seemed to have grown to protect the innards of the twisted fiend!

As she stared in shock at the knife that stuck unnaturally out of the torso of the Crowman, she failed to notice the sickle that struck her solidly on the skull as she passed out into blackness and oblivion.....

Great report Mason - it was an epic game, and you've done it justice. Shame game #2 was so...nope, I jest - that was a cracker, too! Gloria Stitts - I love you; an artist with the Tommy gunm, that girl! :-*

Am I the only one waiting for this to be filmed?

Peter Jackson would bite your hand off for the rights.

I would rather he didnt, to be honest.
He would only bugger things up with 'artistic license'....

It was certainly close, mate.
Considering the start you had, you did really well.
Gloria almost turned the game around single-handed.

I forgot to mention the end game results:

No Skills or Map pieces, of course.

Only two Major Injuries were sustained:
Betty Swollocks developed Agoraphobia, and will feel the need to hug walls in future, whilst Aubrey Werther-Minte was so badly mauled by the Shambler that he is now considered Hideous!

Not a bad outcome, all things considered.

Back later in the weekend with the AAR of the second game......

Yep, deployment did not do Bert any favours, but early failed Resolve tests were much more painful.
Gloria almost turned the tide.
She was damned impressive!

Cheers, mate!
I think it is about time the Northern Irish Division put in a shift, dont you?

Just came across this picture among the others taken during this weeks games.

It was suggested by Legionnaire Bert just for the sake of it.
I agreed that it would be an amusing shot showing the sheer size of the.....

......SPIDER!!!!

Our take on a Spider of Leng.

Big lady, isnt she?

Coming to a gaming table near you soon....
