Help finding Suitable terrain.
« on: April 03, 2012, 03:22:11 AM »
Hi all,

I am trying to find some terrain for a suitable Egyptian Temple Entrance, on a grand scale.   Something like the Sun Temple or a part of the valley of the kings.
Thinking along the lines of the film 'The Mummy'  etc.

I am pretty sure I have seen some rather nice terrain from Pulp platers before so was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of buying some.

Any help with links / pictures would be most appreciated.

Hi,
here is a range of Egyptian miniatures terrain:

Their temples are nice while their pyramids look rather small for 28mm figures.

These look good, any distributor in Europe?

They don't speak about European distributors. It seems that you have to purchase directly from the web site.

Try some pet stores too, they often have Sphinx and such like, for aquariums

Must have a look in the local one for the Sphinx.  I have quite a few ruined Greek/Roman collonades that I have picked up from Aquarium stores.

I would say these are Hirstarts cast

Monolith has some egyptian buildings too

and Grendel range

There are some really cool egypt themed aquarium decorations but never been able to find a online store to get them

Not really a distibutor but you also can get them in Europe (the Netherlands):

I almost 100% sure the owner is a member of this forum. Last year I bought 2 Mastaba's from him in kitform.

Though they've already been mentioned, I've got to put in a recommendation for Hirst Arts molds, been using them for several years & have got to say they've been the single most useful gaming purchase I've made. The ability to produce excellent looking scenery in quantity has been fantastic, as casting with plaster derivatives (like Stone Plaster or Herculite, both commonly available & cheap) is quick & easy (it's also possible to cast using resin with them, though this will degrade the molds eventually). The molds themselves are pretty reasonably priced (especially when you consider the virtually unlimited amount you can produce from them).
Your only problem, I imagine, would be the postal charges to Australia, so looking for a stockist there would be the first step, good luck with the scenery project.

He is, i've dealt with him before and found him to be excellent. I'd recommend.

Cheers
