40K Compatable Civilian Vehicles
« on: April 17, 2012, 03:38:30 PM »
Who makes some civilian vehicles (ie cars and trucks) that are compatible with the look of 40K's Imperial stuff?

Let me know if you got any leads,
Brian

Worth taking a look at Ramshackle Games too.

We used the Marx cars as inspiration for our web-comic:

It would really depend on the tech level of whatever planet you were on. I don't think you'd see Ramshackle stuff in the same place as Antenocitis vehicles. You might try making some yourself or finding cheap toys that could be repainted.

Does regular primer stick to the Marx cars?

The marx cars are hard plastic and will take paint very well. I primed mine with cheap Walmart-brand spray on primer.

Thanks for the info.   Might have to pick some of those up.

Civilian vehicles aren't a huge problem. Compatibility with Imperial aesthetic is. Most good civvy vehicles available for the scale aren't nearly angular and riveted enough and in any case they needz moar skullz! Ramshackle would be my suggestion as well, most other stuff needs quite a bit of work to "imperialize".

How about the Halo Warthog from Mcfarlane:

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=mcfarlane+warthog&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=17406099762100758936&sa=X&ei=Z82OT6rGJYro9AT1tKXhCA&ved=0CGwQ8wIwAw#

They are a good fit scale wise with GW figures and I've seen a couple conversions as IG sentinel proxies.

You might be able to pimp out these hover cars from Zombiesmith for the task:

If anyone's interested in two sets of barely touched Marx cars, I've got some I need to get rid of! PM me. :)

I might if they are going for extremely cheap... $12 the eBay seller was asking is a little steep I find, they would require so much work.

As to the subject itself, just noticed this on BoW:
http://store.dp9.com/product_info.php?products_id=655&osCsid=b5ec1940166458496be213a909e85e0c

Nicely angular and utilitarian, no guns in sight. Needz moar rivetz (and skullz) tho!
