Re: One month to finish... (Or the Museum board)

Well another busy weekend.

Managed to get another game on the Zeppelin yesterday! Thanks again Colin; tis was great fun.

Today I've been continuing painting miniatures and also lots of the scenic bits and pieces to put inside my buildings.

First up is the interior of the Bazaar.

All the bits are resin and from Ainsty. Andy, shipped them out super fast for me. Fantastic service!

The shop section with the Ainsty storefront. Nothing here that I probably couldn't have made myself. But as ever time was of the essence. Still a really nice wee kit once its painted up.

The storeroom section of the Bazaar. All here are Ainsty trade goods.

I've also finished the first faction; the Miskatonic Expedition.

Managed to chip the priest as I dropped him when walking through to the livingroom! D'oh! The chips are now fixed, although they are present in these photos.

I'm especially happy with how the coat turned out.

So there you go. The second faction is almost finished, I cheated for the third by borrowing some of GamerMac's Chinese and the four faction, the Afrika Korps are all base coated, ready for some detailing.

My painting is definitely below the average standard that you see here on LAF; but I'm still happy with it. Plus I can definitely see an improvement.

Cheers
Andy

Thanks for the kind words guys. If I'm going to be honest; I'm not sure if this project will end anytime soon. I've already got enough ideas to fill another board section!

I did thanks; PMed back!

I'd like to introduce you to the nefarious Brotherhood of the Black Pharoah. A cult dedicated to worshipping an ancient and evil figure, know as the Black Pharoah (and for those in the know/Lovecraft geeks; that's an aspect of Nyarlathotep).

I love the Copplestone figure in the centre. Amazingly good fun to paint; the paint seemed to jump off the brush and on to him! Both Artizan miniatures are nice; although for some reason the one on the right seemed to be an absolute pain in the arse to paint! I'm not sure why.

After MacLAM I'll be looking to expand the brotherhood. I already have this chap in my painting drawer

I was wondering does anyone know of any similar miniature (suit and fez)? I'd especially like one with a rifle or SMG.

I also finished the interior of another building.

Another store! This time from Frontline. Very detailed. I really liked the counter; it painted up really easily. However I found the shelving unit slightly more problamatic. Nothing too difficult; more awkward. Plus there where a number of faults in the casting.

Yet more Ainsty trade goods

Extremely blurry photograph of a frontline bed and chest of drawers.

Cheers

Photos are never blurry, they simply have a great atmospheric effect.  :D :D

Great job by the way! You will end up with a terrific table for your adventures!

You're right (about the blur); what the caption should say is

The convergence of strange angles, resulted in a non-euclidean space causing extreme madness in all who beheld...

... or something like that  ::)

Thanks for the kind comment. I too hope that the finished table will be fun to play on.

Cheers

Looks great.

For fez-wearing chaps with guns, Brigade does a trio of enfezzed ones with Thompsons with drum mags. Very pulpy. One of them appeared in one of my pulp scenarios as Mustafa Lattaguns, who after getting lost three times in one game was promptly renamed Mustafa Bettamap by the player running him.

They're sculpted by LAF's own whiffwhaff, actually. Neat figures, and size-wise a good match for Artizan stuff.

Poor Euclid. If only he know how often his name was mentioned by mathematicians...  lol

And if all the angles converge wouldn't that make it a strictly 1 dimensional space, no matter how weird the angles?!  ;D

Phew!
I am glad that you cleared that up.
I thought that my hangover was getting worse!

Great stuff, Andy, it is all coming together beautifully and in double-quick time too.
I am seriously impressed!

Regarding the Fez wearers- I have those fellas as well and was looking to add to them.
Artizan have a few Arab types in the range that may work well with the fez-toters. There are also a couple in the Pulp Figures range by Bob Murch that I have been considering.

Okay; so I realise that I've not updated in a while (oops), but here is a wee short update.

Today I spent 'in the office' so to speak. All that boring paperwork. I managed to break it up a little by working on these four bits of scenery.

^Trees!

^An unfortunate who was 'left behind'. I wonder that happened to him?

I'm getting to play a game tonight with the Brothers Mac. Should be good fun.

And yes, there has been some progress on the Museum. I hope to add it soon.

cheers
Andy
