True that the main phases of The French Wars of Religion took place in the second half of the C16th, but the after effects and mopping up operations rumbled on for another 100 years, until the final mass emigration of the Huguenots (French Protestants) at the end of the C17th, following the persecutions of Louis XIV. The phase of the wars that provides the backdrop for The Three Musketeers, including the siege of the fortified Protestant city of La Rochelle (1622), is absolutely contemporary with the early part of the Thirty Years War, so i would have thought TYW / ECW figures would serve perfectly well if this is the phase of the conflict you're talking about representing.
Brigade Games do a nice range of musketeers and assorted swashbucklers (by Mr Hicks).
Redoubt do as well, although they're nearer 35mm than 28mm.
Blue Moon do a set as well, but haven't seen them in the flesh, so can't really comment.
