Forgotten Glorious French Poilu
« on: April 29, 2012, 10:21:57 AM »
Here are a few more pics of my entry from LPL round 8.
They are lovely large 28mm figures from ForgottenGlorious, a French manufacturer. Great detail and separate heads and weapon arms so you have a lot of choice in the figures you make up - either as Senegalese in fez, chausseurs in beret (?) or poor bloody infantry in Adrian helmet.
I tried to show a variety of uniforms from the period of changeover around 1915, but the one thing not included are heads in kepis, which probably would have been more appropriate for the chap in the pre-horizon blue navy coat and red pantaloons. Ah well. You get the idea.

There are 9 or 10 bodies available - haven't got round to doing the rest of them yet. Fabulous character in the faces (18 available heads).
One tiny criticism, some of the arms didn't fit terribly well and took a fair bit of filing and filling. But the end result is worth it.
Merci beaucoup to Franck from FG for kindly sending me some gratis - Not my period at all, so I said I probably wouldn't paint them. Franck sent them anyway, and as it turns out, I'm glad he did  :D

Yep... lots of character there in the faces. Like the officer chap with the pipe!

Superb painting, Richard.

Yeah! My only concern about Pig iron pieces is that the weapon is ONLY ONE! XD

@Captain: You worked a little bit on that myth, I think. I like your future stuff, great. But now you cannot use it in the next LPL-Round, sorry for that.

Captain,

These chaps look really fantastic.  That French bleu is so tricky to pull off, but you've done it wonderfully.  Merveilleux!  :-*

These are fantastic.
My army is made up of Renegade and a few great war miniatures but these are very tempting.

Does anyone know how they scale up to the Renegade miniataures WW1 French?

Thanks

H
