Current State of Victory Decision and future releases

Hi everyone,

the “One year of Victory Decision” event is over, hundreds of free booklets were downloaded and the sale was well received. Prices are now back to the usual 25% off. Thanks to all of you!

So what is next?

As most of you are aware I am currently working on the new edition of Gear Krieg.

Victory Decision: Gear Krieg will be a full rulebook with all the fluff (and some more) of the original 2000 GK Tactical Rulebook by DP9. It will include army lists for German, British, US and Soviet forces (real life and superscience).
Since the original DP9 book covers the Early and Mid War period I was suddenly writing real life army lists for the above! (Gear Krieg is not just all fantasy, it is strongly rooted in real life history and military units)
After finishing the above I realized that I had just written the basic list for Early and Mid War! So why not publish them at the same time as GK for all the historical gamers? Or maybe even write lists for French and Polish…
So if all goes well Early and Mid war will be covered in 2012!

The only downside of this is that the Generic SF book might be a bit delayed. One reason are the above mentioned additional books, others are a new even more demanding  “real life” ™ job and some freelance work.

As far as I'm concerned I'm more interested in the GK stuff than a set of rules for SciFi, so this are great news to me.
Will there be rules for building your own walkers? I'd like to field my DUST Walkers alongside my Fallschirmjäger rather than buy new walkers again

No, however it will be very easy to use a fitting GK profile for your DUST walkers. DUST is in part based on GK!

Thanks for the update Agis.  You certainly manage to find lots of synergy between your projects - so I think it makes a lot of sense to also be working on the early/mid year armies at the same time.

I think also that Gear Krieg takes the first step towards sci-fi.  There will be a lot of concepts that are the same, so when you get to sci-fi you won't be starting from scratch.

Conversely while you mention there won't be "design your own walker rules" in Gear Krieg, I bet by the time the sci-fi version is released it will be a simple process to port back some of the sci-fi design rules to weird war.

 Good news on the GK front - as that's my primary interest (though i can see Early War forces growing along side them  ). Now all i've got to do is convince DP9 that they need to make new walkers  (or purchase bits to have a go myself - the Italian models on thier forum that you did may be a good start, as i like the desert war.

I am really on it, two early war books will probably be out next month (German and Polish), some of it will also be part of the GK book also (mid war Germans for example)

Good point, I would love to do a full Back of Beyond version including all rules... if only I had more time...

Stats are very similar (you should know). Just need some Critical stats, and a few skill changes.

Well I do know indeed, but I would like to do more. 
A straight conversion would be cheap, or?

At least all the relevant rules should be included with some new dedicated BoB pics, a new Layout, an adaptation of the heroes etc. etc.   
And soon you have another months long project, simpy not possible right now since I alos have to do some freelance writing in addtion to my full time IT-Management job.
