Sci-fi Mutants with big guns and Zombies
« on: 02 June 2012, 06:24:40 PM »
Hi there,

I have recently sculpted some apocalyptic miniatures (which will be extended in the future), and I thought people might like to see. I sent them off to the casters a few days ago, so they should be available soon.

Here's some pics:
First photo is of some menacing mutant warriors (currently without a name for their race). Armed with big guns, two have more muscular physiques and the other two are more "soft" in appearance. Maybe they are what caused the mayhem to happen?

The second image is of some demonic zombies. Their torsos have expanded giving a "straight jacket" appearance. The enlarged torso has caused the front to split, making this their weak point..or weapon :P

All comments are welcome! Oh and here's some new zombie nurses which I have also sent to be cast:

Cheers for looking...

It make me think about Silent Hill movie !  I especially like the nurses.

By the way, I see your greens are slotted : do you use these metal sculpting skeletons/puppets ?

Cheers for the comment. The nurses are conversions of figures I already have on my website (http://www.grekwoodminiatures.co.uk/ZombieNurses.php), so they already had bases. For the other two photos, I created a super skinny "puppet/dolly" a while ago which I then bulk out and then apply detail. However the slotter tag is attached later (pinned and glued) as I had a bunch of those made as well so I didn't ave to keep re-sculpting the word "Grekwood" lol

Thanks man I just bought four of those armless things. I plan to use them as sonic blasters in my mutant horde.

How about something Torchwood related (since you are in Cardiff)?
Rifters perhaps?

Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

That's a pretty cool name! In the end I went with "Bioblytes". Bio as in biologically enhanced. The "blytes" is a combination of "blight" as in dark/evil, "byte" as in technology, and finally "Bite" as they will probably bite if you get too close :P

They are all for sale now on our website www.grekwoodminiatures.co.uk
