Well with the movie about to premier, has anyone heard anything about miniature games or mini's comming out?
No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.

I definitely had two sets of the Aliens (kinda crappy) miniatures that came out when I was a child. Wish I had held onto them. I had the foresight to keep all my Dark Horse Presents comics that involved xenomorphs at least.

A company called NECA, which already make Alien and Aliens toys, has a license, but its web news section hasn't been updated since February, when it said:

"A Prometheus Line is Coming Up This Summer

We’re extremely excited about the upcoming film from Ridley Scott and have our hands full with a new line of figures. We’ll probably be able to show some Prometheus sculpts by the end of June."

I searched Amazon (US and UK), ebay (ditto), Forbidden Planet, Forbidden Planet International, Monsters in Motion and Comet Miniatures for "Prometheus" and found nothing listed yet, except for a few ebay sellers who had added "Prometheus" to the title line of their Aliens merch.

Of course, that won't have turned up any garage kits or "not-" figures under assumed names, but I doubt they'll have been made yet.

Edit: I also searched Wizkids' website, assuming that they'd be the most likely candidate for a minis license: nothing there either.

Aren't they trying to keep the monsters in Prometheus under wraps until theatrical release? I'm sure come Monday there will be more info to be found.

NECA owns Wizkids now, so I would assume if NECA has a license, the best case scenario is more clix aliens.  Too bad.

Well I am jealous of that! Surprised I haven't come across spoilers by accident.

I just saw the movie and I feel it was better than OK, maby I was expecting too much.
Very good picture, feel, effects and the plot was good.
I liked the cast but Just something seemed to be missing to me.
There will probably be a sequal comming.

I am not sure there is any gaming here.

You should go see it.

I just saw the movie with my wife, and proceeded to discuss what was wrong with it for a couple hours. Neither of us disliked it, but we wanted it to be better then it was. I hope a Director's Cut comes out when the DVD is released. I can't go into what we didn't like without spoilers, and I don't do spoilers.

Sorry Captain Blood, I didn't know about that thread.

I posted my comment there as well.

So lets get this thread back to the original question.

Has anyone heard anything about miniature games or mini's comming out concerning Prometheus?

After seeing the movie I doubt it.

No need to apologise at all - just wanted to make sure you'd seen that people were commenting there as well.
(It is sometimes possible to end up with 3 or 4 threads all discussing the same topic :))

Haven't seen any Prometheus-inspired toys yet, but there are bound to be some. That said, from what I can see, the movie has met with a pretty negative response overall... So the chances of it taking on a life of its own as far as merchandise is concerned (a la Star Wars) seem somewhat diminished...

Saw Prometheus last night. It's a flamin' turd in space.

Take your time and money and go buy John Carter on dvd and watch it. Better movie by a factor of 1000.

In my humble, old man's opinion...  lol
