Seeing this pretorian maculator, it reminds me that I made a conversion of some dark legions figures, not painted for now, but I'll show you that also ! Let's go hijacking

Your biogeant looks really good too  :o

I mentioned on the Warzone forum how the nostalgia just kills me for this game. I just don't have the willpower to try to build any new forces for fear of having to over-pay for minis on evilbay to finish a force cause they are RARE!!!!1!one!! Out of Print !!eleven!1one! and all that.

I am that way with the Trenchers -- I am building a little Imperial force, but sadly the Trenchers are not so easy to find. I don't think it's nostalgia in that case, it's just that they are genuinely really nice models with a wide range of possible applications.

But yeah, it's that unwillingness to pay high prices for rank-and-filers that has led to my quest for substitutes. It's actually been reasonably successful so far ... maybe I'll start a thread on it sometime.

There's also that new Trench 2114 game that looks like it could bring some proxies for Bauhaus and possibly Imperial :)

You're right ! Nice future proxies with no doubt. But we'll see if they will be metal or plastic/resin. I collect only metal figures (except for miniature football, donjon and dragons, and heroclix).

Cool thread - and lovely paintjobs (even if I really don't like the Warzone / Chronopia aesthetic at all myself!).

I also wanted to point folks to Prince August [here], since it seems that some of you are after certain minis from the range(s); maybe you can find what you're looking for there?

I believe Prince August was already mentioned somewhere in this thread but it's good to bring him up again :)

Oh and I like your Avatar, what a great classic game :)

If you are after Trenchers, aren't there 40 in the bag of plastics that are sold by E-Bay/Prince August?

I am caught up in all this nostalgia so...more converted Vulkans (just the heads replaced with a visor):

Whoops, and at the top of page 2 as well... Ah well, at least it's a memory-refresher!

Thank you - Do you know, it's the only game from my childhood that I still dig out every couple of years and play... Controls are terribly clunky, and the game is highly unbalanced, but I love it all the same!  lol

Aaaaaaah, the nostalgia! The mention of Warzone always makes me smile and look back to years of collecting all of the books, too many miniatures and reading-rereading-rereading-etc. everything for zillions of times.
I love Warzone, the setting, the miniatures and the game. It was a great alternative for 40K back in the days. The action system allowed for a more epic and movie-like experience than 40K. The game also was really good: great mechanics. In addition, you were spoilt for choice! So many new model profiles, there was something for everyone. Too bad most of them never were sculpted.
For me the best book was Dark Eden. I think the concept was brilliant and the artwork was superb.

I'm still glad with my Golgotha comics series, the three novels (pulp, but loads of fun!), loads of books, Blood Berets game and magazines.

Great topic. Thanks...good way to enter the weekend :)

Could not agree more.
WZ was a VERY good game, way superior to all other comparable game of that day.
That was one of the reasons to use the 3 action system for infantry also in my WWII game Victory Decision!

I still have my Mishima and Capitol armies:

I remember looking at that Necroconstruct from one of the newer books (big spidertank like thing) and wondering if it had any official stats or models.. Sadly, It looks like it had been scratch built solely for the photo  :'(

I still have my books and magazings too.The Dark Eden book was a great idea. The comic's were really good too.

They were working on another comic series which never got released.I have some of the story lines from it along with some art work too.

The Magazines which came out showed some very nice pieces which would have come out in resin for the Dark Eden factions.Nice beast's which would have had riders if finished.Shame they never got released.

Chronopia was another favorite of mine.I loved the concept and twist on the races.

I even managed to get some of the studio painted miniatures and some of the Adrian Smith art work which he did for Empire Chronopia and other pieces.

Love these threads which bring back old ranges.

The 1999 range is another which I love and have most of too.
