Looks like WWI gamers are going to be spoilt this year
« on: 28 February 2008, 10:20:44 PM »
Message from Mike on the Artizan Yahoo group site

"Plans

On the Artizan front I have been working away on another project that
should have the first packs out in April this is going to be an Arab
revolt range, It will be quite small and designed to fit in with the
Brigade Games range I have been working on for the last 4-5 years but
also be quite self contained. Brigade will be manufacturing it in the US
but we will be selling it as normal mail order in the web shop. I am
going to try and not release it until its pretty much complete.

Regards.

Mike"

Wow! An obscenity filter. That's new, ain't it?

Suddenly this place has gone all TMP on us!  :)

(I was going to apologise for swearing, by the way. I was just expressing my joy in my own low-brow way.)

I am wondering if Mikes plan has something to do with Mark Copplestone plan. This is part of the text from his last mailinglist email.

"At the moment I`m working with Mike Owen of Artizan Designs on a joint project - a new 28mm range for release in late April. We'll sell our own parts of the range online and through mail-order as normal, but we'll share packaging for shops. I won't tell you right now what it's going to be, but it's not an obscure period and it's not covered by an Osprey book."

I have been searching the Osprey site and the Arab revolt doesn't have its own book. Though it is mentioned in 3 other books; The Sudan Campaigns 1881–98 (MAA 59), Megiddo 1918 (Campaign 61) and The First World War (4) (Essential histories 23). So who knows!

Well it ain't the Arab Revolt then, as I've got an Osprey on that.

@ Plynkes

You are right, I hadn't read it thorough enough. It seems the joint venture between Mike and Mark and the Arab revolts are two seperate projects.

Now I see the frontcover I should have known, I had seen it before.
I was just so exited that Mike and Mark are going to work on a range  together that I couldn't think normally.

I'm alright now

A joint Artizan/Brigade and Artizan/Copplestone project makes me tingly.  :D

no, not really, was always here, is a default function "Word Censors" of forum software with some usual "bad" words, actually there is only that one word in, that's why you never noticed that. Actually I don't care about the choice of the words as long as you aren't going to offend someone.

That's weird, as I'm sure I've seen that word on here before.  :?:

Edit: (A little experimentation later...) Oh, I get it. It only censors the pure four-letter version. If you put -ing on the end, it slips past the guard dogs. Right, I understand now. All is clear.

Makes sense for Artizan, they have I think 4 Arabs in their Thrilling tales and I am sure the Moor dollies would come in handy.

I do think we will (well I will) be sick of the sight of WW1 by the end of the year what with new ranges popping up to prepare for the GW set of rules
