That's great. I imagine some of the people doing fallout projects will be very interested in this too.

Bit of an update as i've not posted anything for ages.... as you can see its all very much still a WIP - i've not even started adding texture to the flat surfaces of the boards.

Currently the board will be 10 1/2' x 4 1/2' and consist of 21 squares each 45cm x 45cm.

I have got 3 more boards to tag on one side, but i'm not sure if i'll have time to get them done as well.

The Lincoln Memorial is now undercoated

View from the Washington Monument end of the board - the higher ground is going to be the goal of the humans as they flee from the ape hunters.  The raised area is as a result of a massive earthquake at some point over the last two thousand years - this has caused part of the Washington Monument to fall off, but also exposed the tunnels underneath.  The Reflecting Pool won't be evident after 2000 years, a massive earthquake and a nuclear war, but i might stick some sign of it on the raised section. The raised areas also need some rubble to make them look less square-edged.

The raised area contains a subway tunnel (i've actually moved the line a bit closer to the Monument for the purposed of gameplay so its just short of the foundations).

Subway entrance (smithsonian?) - squeezed onto the table as I needed another route from the low ground to high ground.

There is another route from the janitors room, via a break in the storm drain....

The broken storm drain emerges (thanks to the earthquake) midway down the table - in total it is about 2 feet long.

Two more ways to get to the higher ground and safety - in the foreground the fallen piece of the Washington monument has created a handy ramp - in the background a rusting bus will act as a ladder for anyway foolhardy (or desperate) enough to try it.

View from the Lincoln Memorial - near the starting point for the humans - on the left hand side of the board there will the rusting remains of some vehicles, with some trees, foliage, and a crashed spacecraft littering the table.

Looking good and quite massive. The photos give a much clearer idea of what's going on than when you describe it.  ;)

There's one important factor missing though, McFonz's chimp suit. I don't know why but this one really reminds me of him...

Nice to see you took advantage of Frothers being down to get some modelling done.

I can't wait to see this completed.
This is my boomstick!

cheers all!

Still a bit more polystyrene to add on the left hand side, and some ruined building sections to mark the left hand boundary.

It's basically going to be a manhunt with the apes driving the humans up the table length, with the higher ground the safe area.

 :)

Cheers Scurv!

Quick update:

polyfillered, glued and partially sanded

The side sections include some ruined corners (Slug Industries) plus plenty of foam, gravel etc - this will represent the edge of the ruined buildings, and effectively be no-go for the players. They are currently resting on the other boards but will fit alongside for the game.

Railings (and fire hydrants) are Fenris Games - currently just for planning (ie not attached yet).

More glue/sand at the weekend, then maybe can start painting the week after....

Thanks!

Must admit I will feel happier once I'm on to the painting, as it will start to knit the various elements together...still feels a bit of a mishmash.

Quick update - slow progress as i've pretty much been away the last couple of weeks due to work....

Got the base coat done - will drybrush bext to bring out the texture, dirty up the stonework etc.  Also need to rust up any metalwork, add the wrecked vehicles, seal the boards, and add the foliage....oh and finish painting/basing the minis, and write the rules.

 :D
