I can smash up a printer as well as the next guy, but I struggle to make it look like anything other than a printer when I am finished.  Colour me envious of your talents.

The terrain is great and dont change a thing about those paint jobs: the marines look just perfect as is.

Only just caught on to this and I must say that I really like  it all.
Everything!
 :-*

Really nice choice of figures, coupled with some vibrant paintjobs, excellent bases and a wonderful bit of alteration work on the printer.
Top notch work!

Going back for another drool now....

Oh my word man that printer scenery is amazing. Might have to give something like that a go sometime. Might have my old knackered one still tucked up under the stairs if I'm lucky. I also love those minis and the paintjobs are fantastic. I recently picked up some old Space Hulk genestealers off ebay too. Really love them. Good project. Will be watching this one.  :D

Great stuff. You should also check the recent Blue Moon SF stuff. All done by Bob Naismith who did the Cobalt line and Ye Olde Rogue Trader pirates and mercenaries.

Try Ebay or maybe even Etsy to sell your stuff.

I seem to be late to this party too. Lovely painting and a great piece of scenery. I'm slowly amassing my own collection of the AA SF line for when I can slot it in to my timetable. Threads like this and Jonas' keep moving them up the list.

Cheers everyone!

@Matakishi: Welcome to the party, I've got quite a few more of the AA mini's on the table to come but I'd love to see what you do with them.

@Area23, Cheers! I'll have a look at the Blue Moon stuff as soon as I have some cash, I'm trying to stay away from looking at any mini's at the moment as the temptation is too great!

@Diakon, thanks very much give it a shot just take the printer apart and see what happens, I had no idea what was going to happen before I started.

Couple more paint jobs to show off for this week:

Mutant Chronicles Razide

Alternative Armies Khanate Empire troops

@ Scurv - Cheers man you're making my already bulbous head swell  :)
I'm not sure I'm that great a painter just trying my best. Regarding my painting style I'm not sure if I do anything weird or different to the 'normal' way people paint I mainly use a ton of washes or glazes until it looks right. So for example on the big muscled guy I started with a basic human flesh colour and slapped on various red, purple and brown washes/glazes until it 'felt' right then added a bit of highlighting in pinks and flesh colours.
Quite often I'll paint a couple of washes on a mini and it won't look right so it'll end up getting left partially finished for weeks until I revisit it and it sort of clicks and I can finish the figure. I tend to have a ton of partially painted figures on my shelves as I'll just walk-away from a mini if I'm not enjoying painting it.

@ Aggro84 - Thanks very much!
@ Za Zjurman - Again thanks, do it smash it up glue it back together paint it black, dry brush it brown and BAM industrial wastleland.
@ Dr. The Viking - Cheers!!!

Finished a couple more figures at the weekend:

Beast of a figure (40mm base) that I kept dropping as he weighs a ton. I went for a colourful but grimy paint job as there's a lot going on the figure so I thought it might all blend into one if it was too 'gritty'.

Lastly we have a Necromunda Skavvy:

And here they are next to each other so you can see how chunky the first guy is.

Should hopefully have a few more to show off towards the end of the week but I'm currently being distracted by Far Cry 3 so my progress is seriously hampered.

I love the way that you take an unusually colorful (or is it colourful?  lol) palette, and make it look grimy and beaten up looking.

I personally think you've done a fantastic job with some of these older casts, and really helped them shine through.

Fantastic work!

Love the big guy. What is he? The Scavvy too is awesome. That's my favourite Scavvy actually. Painting is excellent. Hunchback with a shotgun. Classic.  :-*

@ therepoman - Cheers, I love painting rotting beaten up stuff but it was a nice change and challenge to add a little colour and still have it looking beat up and old. You're making me feel really old referring to the Skavvy as an 'old' sculpt I still remember when these came out :)

@ Diakon - again thanks very much, the big guy is this fella:

from the Warzone Mutant Chronicles range.

Just finished another Warzone mini, this guy:
http://shop.princeaugust.ie/warzone-mutant-chronicles-wargame/dark-legion-armies/tg9649pb-warzone-dark-legion-golem-of-darkness-figures/

I went for a really simple purple colour scheme as I've never really done an entirely purple mini and I like to try different things to keep myself learning.

Again he's a rather large figure on a 40mm base. I went for an old school all over high gloss finish as I thought it would make the purple stand out.

Let me know what you think

The gloss seems to make him look wet and slimy if thats the intention?
Lovely paintwork though.
