Retreat from Moscow Perry minis

Hi,just noticed Retreat from Moscow French greens on the Perry metal workbench page,any members know of their intentions ,future planned releases etc ?

My opinion: Finally some minis for skirmish! The standard boxes of perry (and other companies) have too many standing pieces for a decent skirmish game. now there are some charateristic pieces, which is great. Sadly, those will keep being produced in metal, i can assume! =(

Yes, the French Column boxed set is a little rigid for skirmishing... you really only have one pose to choose from. The voltigeurs were a nice addition, but there are only a handful per box. These looks bloody great though. That command squad! Wow!

I can only think that there are occasions when they sculpt something that they really want to, rather than looking for bulk sales. I think that they have earned the right to do this........

They should do the two chaps from The Duellists, when they go off to fight and get ambushed by Cossacks :-)

As an offbeat Napoleonic film, the Duellists is a cracker.

The duelist is hardly an off beat film, Top actors and Director for the times (well up and coming) and mainstream distribution by a major studio. Subject matter is certainly not a mainstream War film but given the times it fit well in attracting people to the film. I had the pleasure of working with both Keith Caradine and Harvey Keitel on sets later on in their careers and they both had many fond memories or the shoot as well as interesting stories from the shoot. Harvey mentions he still had the Hussar Uniform (but could not get into it) and we also had a discussion about the beautiful final scene in the picture. I mentioned that I thought the sky was laid in afterwards as it was so perfect for the scene with the dark grey clouds and just a small patch of sunshine breaking through at just the right moment! He said no Ridley got us up early, in the rain, and trudged us up there, set the camera up, and the rest just happened!
