At a concept stage only so far.

Brennon's hopes about a quick release may be unwarrated.

It's true you can't really go there for their informed opinions on stuff, it's more like leafing through a glossy-paper advertisement "magazine".

And their historical information is atrocious. They'll often mislabel models from completely different wars or centuries. Their advice on historical models almost always boils down to "These would make great alternative Imperial Guard for 40k!"  ::)

Yeah Beasts of War are definitely aiming at the 40k fanboy crowd. I remember them reviewing a historical ruleset and both chaps ended up just going on about how much they want to do Spartans from 300 because they're really cool. I suppose though they put a lot out there for free that plenty of people enjoy so fair play to them.

They reviewed Black Powder and talked about Napoleonics and how the Emperor Napoleon (they were talking about Boney) was asked to command in the American Civil War!

If I'm looking for some video of stuff on sprues, I'll go to BOW -- but they really are just 40K fans...and that's about it.  Really get tired of their videos.

Like the artwork, not much hope for the finished article looking as good though, judging from previous offerings.  :?

Yep, Defiance may be spawned by the guys who left Wargames Factory --- they sure didn't bring the talent with them.  Their offerings have looked like complete crap so far.  A shame considering the artwork.

Not sure about that really because they do go on about a bunch of other games a real faniboi wouldn't touch with a stick. Still, they very obviously come from that background -- it didn't feel odd that they recently lauded Infinity Ajax as the "best model, like, evah, d00d!" since it's the most "Hammerish" Infinity figure, like, evah, d00d! :P

Be that as it may, back to the subject of the thread: I'm not too convinced about the Defiance German walker concept either. But I suppose it sorta fits with the lowtechy approach. BTW has anyone bothered to find out how these chaps are ever supposed to have gone to the stars with techonology hardly having an appearance of otherwise having progressed beyond the next one or two decades?
