Great shot, Steve!
That is a very atmospheric image.
Like a tribe on the move.
 :-* :-*

If I lived in a post-apoc settlement, seeing that crowd heading my way would make me nervous. No need for mohawks and BDSM gear  ;)

 lol
Gotta say that I agree with the Doc on this.
Them there varmints dont look too friendly... :o

That mat certainly looks good.
Very vibrant, but best of all it actually looks 'soft' as snow does when it is fresh.
If that makes sense to you...?

Ahhhh.... Thank You!

I've been looking for figures like this for a while. Many of these will fit perfectly in my plan to make a scenario based on The Thing. I thought I was going to have to sculpt the figures myself.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Exactly what I am using the ones I bought for as well. I am increasingly intrigued by Scavenge etc. as well.

OK! Steve! You're in for it.

I went AAAALL the way to IKEA (or I-mekka as it's called here) and guess what,... they didn't have off white fleece anymore.

Just took it out of their range. In fact one was still hanging tauntingly from the ceiling alongside it's red and purple friends. However the crates on the floor had none left...

So I did the next best thing. I bought something called a 'towel' in white. I have little idea about the original purpose of this artefact but with the texture and all I think it will be right perfect for gaming.  :D

Aw shucks!

A bit of salt in the wound.... It's still listed on the uk website...

http://m.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/art/20089925/

I imagined that in Scandinavia there'd be branches of ikea everywhere!

No, I have to swim through a lava lake and jump on my tongue on 28km of sand paper to get to mine,  o_o

OK, you're right. They're everywhere.  lol

I've just finished reading this topic over several days and it's with real regret that I came to the end of it. It's been like reading a very enjoyable book - you don't want it to end.

Silent Invader (Steve) I am so impressed with your work on this project. The idea is such an original one and to have dreamed it up, planned it and then carried it through so well is admirable. As well as the depth and variety of the game, your skill in producing the various aspects: rules, miniatures, buildings, background etc leaves me searching for suitable words of praise. Excellent is an understatement.

The contributions on all sorts of subjects to this topic from other people is also superb. So thanks to everyone for providing a few hours of reading pleasure with this.

I think I'm going to have to go to a show as a punter for the first time in many decades to see your game at Reveille. Good luck with that and with SSS in the future.

Doug

I think Doug's post is a very good summary of this project. You should be rightfully proud of what you've achieved Steve.

If you can make it to the Bristol show it'd be great to meet you and, if you'd like, to play the game.

Steve - I'd love to try it and if I possibly can make Reveille, I'm your man.

In the meant time, guess what? I've printed out the cards and am looking to have a trial game with proxy miniatures from my collection. A question - didn't I see somewhere in the topic posts a reference to a scenario to download? I can't see anything on either of the relevant websites. Also, is there an example of game play anywhere?

Thanks

Doug
