Update time!

I have successfully run off casts from the new SnowTrac mould...... Cue the cartwheels of joy!  :D

I have quickly superglued the pieces to the base vehicle, though I haven't filled gaps so it's clear what goes where (and the cargo sledge will be available as an extra)

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

And a few taster pics of the first casts of the Winter Militia, of which there are presently 4:

And a couple from the Arctic Patrol (UK), of which there are presently 8

And with the SnowTrac for comparison:

There will also be US (m16 with Fritz helmet) and European (G36c and Fritz helmet) versions of the Arctic Patrol

Are there plans for bits of stowage to sit along the sides/roof? Oh, or perhaps an upgrade for a turret machine gun (enclosed presumably to stave off the cold)? A little plough on the front may be a practical addition for one of the vehicles in a convoy of these that could be lowered to clear out particularly thick snow.

I'm hoping towards the end of next week for just the casts and maybe the week after for an assembled package of base vehicle and conversion casts (gaps filled and probably spray undercoated).  Just need to fit in the casting and work out the pricing.  ;)

Yep stowage is planned, bergens for the side platforms etc as there's not a lot of room inside these things.  Yep also to the turret machine gun, I did master and cast one before but wasn't so keen on the finished look so scrapped it to start again. There won't be a plough though as I don't think these things are heavy or strong enough to carve a path - they are really tiny, IIRC about the size of a VW Golf.

There will be a plough coming though, for fitting to the SIKU 1/56 Unimog, which is the unit's off road, load carrying workhorse. I'm also speccing some skiddoos.  :)

Skidoos would be excellent!

A BV-206 (Viking) would fit perfectly too, they were originally designed for this kind of setting (Norway). Dunno if anyone makes one in 28mm?

Where does the time go?!  :o. I'm quite a way through the casting and hope to be able to make more progress soon. In the meantime, I have been able to push putty and have put together a figure I've been mulling over for sometime ......

..... The abomination: dribbling saliva, covered in weeping pustulations, he sheds virus wherever he goes!

Soms shots prior to final tuning:

That is nice (in a hideous way). Your sculpting is looking very accomplished.

Cheers guys.....

I'm especially looking forward to painting him.  Gaming should be interesting to ..... One not to get close to!

Next step moulding and then into the casting queue.
