With the dwarfs from Tolkien's "Hobbit" they don't have anything to do.
But that is true for this (three-parts ??!! o_o ???) film anyway.

I agree with your first point here. Can't really comment on the second one since I haven't seen the movies yet. However, I find it perfectly legitimit to add the connector between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings as an own movie, especially since Gandalf does hint at these things in the book.

Love the beard color on this last one. As I'm partially through painting a Dwarf army do you mind sharing techniques/recipe?

Thanks!

So once you get the gang all finished, you have two choices....

1) I can trade you my unpainted set for your painted set!! (preferred option by me)
2) Would you like to paint my set up???   lol

Great work...Can't wait to see the rest.

How? How? How are you managing to painting a beautiful mini to that standard each day? You must have waaaaaay too much spare time on your hands!!!

I've started work on the Great Goblin, it is a joy to paint. Really nice centrepiece.

I can't wait to start my Dwarves. I think I will do a few before doing the other 18 Goblins (I haven't even assembled the extra 36 that I bought)...

The scenery looks a bit cool too!

I am absolutely loving this thread, and it may have convinced me to buy the set (the dwarves anyway).  I too thought maybe the didn't look 'drwarfy' enough when I first saw them. However, I wonder if this is just because us miniatures gamers are not used to seeing dwarves presented as individuals? We are used to seeing ranks of similar look dwarves, not a band of individual adventurers.

Brilliant!
Some great new minis to catch up with.
 :-*

While they all look great (not to keen on the 'twisted-dough' beard...) my favourite by far is Bifur.
Rastafarian Dwarf!
