Stop laughing at my pain, I'll end up having to paint those little critters up for her (they are kind of cute though  ::)).

Maybe that can be a condition of purchase?  :P "I will buy them for you, but you have to paint them". It can work ;)

Good luck with that! And keep up the dwarf painting  :)

Hi Princess, I'll consider the condition, perhaps it will work. Now you keep up that dwarf painting  :D.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement einarolafson, now if only I could figure out how to paint the most realistic eye in the history of miniature painting  ;) Great Fanticide thread btw.

Thanks guys,
 Damien

This week I decided to keep going with the Metal Magic theme and painted a Goblin from their range. I love these goblins, they are very different from the GW sculpts and have tons of character. I decided to paint the skin tone with Vallejo Green/Brown and I think it turned out really well, let me know what you guys think.

Here is the paint I used for the skin:

I also tried a new background, a lot of people here take pics with a black background and the minis looked really good; let me know what you think, white or black?

I really liked painting this little guy and hope to buy the entire Metal Magic Goblin range in the future.

C&C always welcome and thanks for looking,

 Damien

Very good! I too love these goblins. The shoddy paintjobs on Mega's site betray the awesomeness of the sculpts. Skin tone turned out great! Also, the black background works very well. Keep it up buddy!

Great work, Damien!
 :-*

Lovely skin tone, it takes me back to my early teens when I used to paint my orcs and goblins brown.
I still think that it looks better.

Thanks beefcake, now show us a purple Orc!

You are absolutely right phreedh, I wish Mega Minis would just show bare metal minis instead of the crapy 80's paint jobs. Thanks for the feedback, you have convinced me and I think I'll try taking some more pics with the black background.

Hello Mason, a well painted army of brown orcs and goblins would be a site to see, it reminds me of the old Lord of the Rings animation from the early 80s. Thanks for the positive feedback!

Well thanks again guys, the positive feedback is really appreciated!

Cheers,
 Damien

They look great!

As to white or black, I think it depends not he miniature and colours used. Some colours stand out better in front of a white background and others a black one. This looks really good in front of the black background, though!  :)

Good point about the paint job vs. background, I'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks for the feedback Princess, I really like your (Romina) frog princess thread.

They were my first minis, 6mm jobs, don't even know the manufacturer.
Did grenadier ever do 6mm?

VERY COOL as only a Goblin can be! The skin tones definitely improve his appearance. GREAT WORK!

I haven't figured out background colors either. It does seem to moi that the black doesn't fade out the colors as much as white/lighter shades.
