Great piece of work Mason.  :-*

I'm going to join the choir and say without the rider. As has been said, the Mahoot is a great idea especially with the head-swap but there's just something about it that isn't working for me. I cant put my finger on it but I think it's just a visual thing. I know you haven't got time but I think footprints to the wall was a good idea.
Don't!

Thanks for your views, chaps, much appreciated.
 :)

I happen to agree with the majority view, as I was thinking that the thing was looking a little unbalanced with him up there.
I was getting a little carried away with the idea as well, as I really liked Malamute's idea of a 'hidden clue'.
I was toying with the suspect having his shirt and trousers (made from green stuff) up there with him, and a pair of boots on the elephant base, but felt that it would be confusing to the observer without an explaination.

I like to imagine the culprit having legged it which gives the viewer endless possibilities in their own mind as to whodunnit

^
This seems like the best solution to me.
Thanks, Svennn!

Splendid work Mason! Especially like the personal touch with the painting, very well played! =)

WONDERFULLY WELL DONE! I love the addition of the painting (on the wall that is).

Thanks, phreedh and DeafNala.
I think that is one little touch that she will like.

Thanks, Thunderchicken.
I think I will use that idea in another scene in the future...I have a plan!

Bucking the trend, I like the piece with the mahoot; re, it fits with a more Peter Sellers style detective...it's my basic sense of the absurd kicking in.

A-ha!
An Inspector Clouseau- themed diorama!
Love that idea!!

This is wonderful. I hope your wife likes it! If not I'll open the bidding at £50! (it's worth much more though).

Damn good, Paul! :-*
I really like the stone work, and the warm tone.

And I do spy a Belgian Detective with a masterful choise of colouring ;)

I wont tell her that, she may just sell it to you if she does not like it!

Cheers, Skander!

Not sure about 'masterful', but it certainly made the painting process a lot quicker... ;)

Glad that you mentioned him, I have just noticed what looks like a chip on his cane.
Better fix that later tonight before I hand it over.

I really like it. It tells a good story and the mahut looks completely out of place... as he should

Thanks, beefcake!
I have opted to leave the mahut out, but will be using the 'out of place' element in a future Inspector Clouseau scene. As suggested by DeafNala.

Needless to say we must know the Mem Sahib's reaction tomorow morning.

Anyone on LAF would be ecstatic opening this.

Thanks, Bezzo!
Of course the reaction will be reported.
Even if she tells me that it is crap!
 :)

It all becomes clear now...

Doh!
Unfortunately I have not got the time.
I am at work.

Excellent piece.

I'll join the crowd and say it looks more balanced without the mahout.

Your wife's reaction tomorrow would be worth a piccy if you dare!

 lol lol lol

Fat chance!
I am working tomorrow and the day after too, so I had my Christmas dinner yesterday.
Suffering for it now, though.
Too much vodka.... ::)

No chance of that, mate.
She would go potty!

Thanks again for the Belgian, that was main ingredient and it would not have worked without him.

Good news!

The Missus was weel chuffed and has decided not to take Elk101 up on his very kind offer.
 ;)

She was particularly pleased with the elephant and the picture.
It has now taken up residence in the cabinet in the living room, so it must make the grade.
 :)

Thanks for all the input, chaps!

Top man!! That's a job well done.

Happy Christmas Mason.

The sickle in the fruitful field;
The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."
