In 1/48 scale, UM makes a GAZ-MM, a GAZ-AAA, a PMG-1 Fire truck, and a BZ-42 Fueler. I haven't built any of these kits, so I can't tell you what the quality is.

All of which are pretty dated for the Vietnam War. A Gaz-63 is what you really want but I doubt anyone makes one in a useable scale.

Carlos, thanks for your answer. As i have understood a whole range of trucks were used by the NVA during the Vietnam conflict. Including the Gaz - 63.

A GAZ 63 is virtually identical to a GAZ 51 though.

And both can be found on Ebay as 1/43 diecasts. But for silly, silly prices...

I'd just use WW2 GMC or Studebaker trucks, with the distinctive headlight and radiator grills removed... they look surprisingly like their Soviet and Chinese counterparts. Where to get them is another matter.

Arlequin, it has crossed my mind, doing a conversion on another somewhat similar model. Perhaps this could be something. Thanks.

UM is the name of the company that makes those 1/48 scale trucks. You can usually find examples fairly easily on ebay.

Gents, thanks for all the respons on my topic. It has resulted in finding a Dutch webshop that sells kit in scale 1:48 for the Gaz AAA truck as well as a number of other Vietnam Conflict related hardware in the same scale. Excellent. Now i only have to find a job to earn the money so that i can buy some of the stuff. Hmm....that could be a problem
