Vehicles you'd like to see for 28mm?
« on: 06 April 2009, 10:53:34 PM »
Hello, everyone -

I'm curious about this, as it's something I myself have considered, but also, I'm just genuinely interested to see what you think.
I was wondering what vehicles you think are needed, but aren't readily available in 28mm scale for the WW1/WW2/Interwar Period. Maybe it's because I've been writing army 'source books' for Panzer Korps, or because I'm finally getting the chance to put out some miniatures, but I have been noticing some curious gaps in lines lately, to include quite a few pieces I wouldn't mind having for my own  purposes.

Here's what I'd like to see, in no particular order. I'm sure I'll think of others as this goes on...

German Ehrhardt Armored Car for the WW1 Period (Why does NO ONE make this?!)
Garford Armored Truck (so many uses, so much service, and nobody does it)
German LKII for 1919 period scenarios, for the Swedes, the Hungarians, etc.
Austro-Hungarian Romfell Armored Car
Austro-Hungarian Junovicz Armored Car
Austro-Hungarian Burstyn Tank (could have entered production)
Italian Fiat 611 Armored Car
Fiat 3000 tank (mainly so that Ethiopian troops have something to fight those L5s with;); I realize an FT-17 looks pretty similar)
Austro-Hungarian Armored Train (The HLBS one is no longer available, and my efforts to procure one have been for nought)

And of course, all of the Hungarian vehicles (Toldi I, Toldi II, Turan I, Turan II, Zrinyi II, Csaba, Nimrod) in an appropriate scale for 28mm.

What about you?

-Doc

@ SgtPerry

According to their site, Company B is working on a M24 Chaffee… Check the list "Release Schedule 2009" on the right of the screen…

I think the honourable lead boiler suit company did do one many moons ago. I saw one on ebay a couple of years ago but I couldn't afford it.

I agree though, this the one I'd most like to see. It's got such a distinctive look to it.

Yeah, Its a real pity that we will have to wait for such an important A/C for RCW/BoB Reds. Hopefully they will do it in wheeled half-track versions. Please, please Mr Company B ......

Lt Hazel, they are similar but the M-1 (US) and Soviet BA-6 have enough definite differences that I decided the FoA Ba-6 wouldn't work without more modification than it is worth.

Cory,

I think what Lt Hazel showed you is  the FOA Chevrolet, not a BA-6.
However, I feel you're right in that a conversion to an M1 might not be straightforward.

Here's my wishlist anyway.

1930s trucks. Citroen, Mercedes (where's that G3?) Renault, Chevrolet, Ford.
A Pzkfw IB
Hispano-Suiza T69 AC (MG variant)
A Breguet XIX and a Nieuport 52. Alright, these are not vehicles.... ;)
