Very nice - but please do tell us which companies the figure and the aircraft come from?

There's a Supermarine Walrus in 1/48 down at the local hobby shop, for a reasonable sum. It's really a very tempting piece to add to my Pulp Figures aviator figures!

I've got the SMER Supermarine Walrus myself, though I haven't built it yet. That and the seaplane version of the Fairey Swordfish made by the same company would both make great Pulp props fit for Indy himself.

This plane is made by Special Hobby (I got mine from Hannants online store: http://www.hannants.co.uk/).

Comes with variant parts and decals for two RNAS and one US Navy version. Not as cheap as the SMER kits, but not as basic either. A bit of a step up from a SMER kit in difficulty, I found. Managed to get there in the end, though.

The figure is from the Brigade Games ANZAC command/characters pack. As soon as I saw him I knew he was the one, for he looks almost identical to the colour plate of an RNAS Lieutenant in the Osprey book. Even the pose is almost the same, complete with stick. The only change I made was to widen the brim on his hat with a bit of miliput, just to make it look slightly more nautical.

Thanks for the positive comments, chaps. There are plans to fill all seven vacant slots in the group photos. I have all the planes and most of the figures I need. Another one is almost ready (just need to finish painting a couple of figures), but there is a hold-up with Eddie Meadow's plane. The rigging scheme is a real beeyatch and I'm still scratching my head as to how to go about it. Looks like I might have to drill through some parts that are smaller than my smallest drill bit, so unless I can rethink it I may have to go shopping for a new bit.

Cheers.

I wouldn't have had Helen down as a Franz Ferdinand fan! Well there you go. Not my favourite band, but I don't find them unlistenable either.

I give this club several constellations worth of stars! Simply stunning.

The rigging is most impressive and doesn't look out of scale at all to me.

As for making tiny holes, if you are working on a plastic kit you might try using a heated pin/needle or veen heat the wire used for the rigging itself. It takes some practice (if the needle gets too hot you can easily melt too large a hole).

Whaddaya mean? I've seen your Redfield Expedition, Sir Vivian and wotnot. Are you saying it wasn't you that painted that lot?

Can't apply yourself my eye!

Was hoping to finish the Pink Baron today, but I forgot I had young McTavish's fourth birthday party to go to, so he'll have to wait. It was good, there was booze. That's class, a fourth birthday party with booze. Well done, that man!

Ah, but you've gone for the whole package, the backstory, continuing development of the Club, extra special attention to make things just and so with the right plane for each person, you get me?

I just grabbed a handful of minis and painted them all the same colours. No thought beyond how quickly I could get em done.

Face it mate, you've won. And there ain't no shame in being beaten by someone you can respect.

Good on yer, Blue!  :)

Oh, that's how it is done these days in better circles? I better rethink the Namegiving Ceremony *) of fiver, son of hammershield, then.

*) ...or is that 'Namecalling Ceremony'?
