High quality work!  :o  :-*

And the "aged wood" painting is VERY effective too.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Ciao!

I completed the woods.
Here the pictures:

The bases are undercoated with a mash of water, sand, white glue, green and brown paints and plaster and then drybrushed light yellow.
I applyied some rocks (pieces of bark), light and dark green tufts, static grass and leaves (obtained from dry seed pods of the birchs) .

That's all!
Hope you like them!

Marco

Yes, I mean the stones
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muratura

You only have to experiment a little with the dullness/sharpness of the pencil, and the pattern of the stones.
I did'nt have any reference, but maybe a picture of the real thing could be useful as an example.
I knew the technique, but Yours looked so naturally irregular

Ciao Berwyr,

in my opinion, the trick is starting putting some "large" stones here and there, without any pattern.
Then fill the empty spaces with smaller stones, again here and there, and then complete the filling with even smaller ones.

Hope this helps,
Marco
