The Green Man
« on: 11 February 2013, 12:40:13 AM »
I have been looking for a mini of The Green Man for the last couple of days. Google has led me astray and surfing various miniature sites has come up with nothing. I would like a representation of The Green Man that is a full figure in 25-32 mm, he doesn't have to be huge like the pic but that is okay. An Ent or Shambling Mound just wont do. I am looking for this for a fantasy adventure, the images are for the sake of representation.

This is a comic book cover that best represents what I am looking for. (Images from Astro City: Dark Age book 4 #1)

Any feedback would be welcome.
Thank you.

Hi Vauln, though not an exact replica I would go with Reaper's 'Spirit of the Forest'. It is in their Warlord section under Elves.

What do you think?

Damien,

I was hoping for something more leafy. I may give it a shot though, need to get some more green stuff before I tackle it though. Thanks.

Hi Vauln,

I'm not sure how tall he is, but Splintered Light Miniatures make a Treeman in their 15mm Woodlands Realm range.

They're great people to deal with and have been happy to answer inquiries in the past.

Cheers,

Barry

Oooo, that is closer to what I am looking for. I wonder how tall it is. It is like a baby Green Man. Green Boy?

Thanks Barry.

What about the AE-WWII actual Green Man, though not that tall (around 40mm) he's a lovely sculpt.

How about the 'Floronic Man' HeroClix figure?

I realise he's not a 'full figure' as he's in the process of emerging from the ground; but if you're looking for a leafy 'man' as opposed to a walking 'tree' he might serve.

The AE-WWII one and the Dreamblade plastic are rather nice.

The Reaper one was in the Bones Kickstarter, and will be released in plastic in March (-ish).  It was one of the optional add-ons, so E-bay may not be quite as swamped with them as some of the other minis :D

Van, I think you may have it there. That was not the style I was looking for but I might be able to make it work. Way to think outside the box, and thank you.

Chair, I dont think I could make either of those work. Thank you.

Orc, The Floronic man is a totally different myth (as well as a Swamp Thing villain), not what I am looking for. Thanks though.

Tony, That is a Green Man. I am not a fan of the mini, but thank you for the post.

I have the Splintered Light Miniatures 15mm Treeman, he is about 40 mm tall (and quite nice "in the flash" so to speak).
