Sarissa Precision Railroad Station Finished
« on: March 07, 2013, 07:47:52 AM »
I'm finished with the railroad station for now. It will get some additional work when I'm ready to build the boards but for now its good enough to game with. I added the shingles, and faded the paint a little more. Unfortunately a lot of that work seems to have been washed out by all the light in my workroom. It just didn't photograph very well. Anyway here are a couple pictures of the finished product and as always there is a bunch more on my blog if you want to see the final blow by blow to the finish line at: http://wargamesandrailroads.blogspot.com/2013/03/building-calamity-sarissa-precision_7.html

I really like the faded/worn look you have given the building.

Good job  :) :)

Who makes the shingles?

I have just put together the North American Barn (smaller than I expected  :-I ) but without the base - trimmed off the taps and used my magnetic jig from Micro Mart to keep it square - so that I can mount it on it's own, larger base.

The shingles are from Branchline Trains: http://www.branchline-trains.com/laserart_structures/parts/shingles/shingles.html

That looks really good, I like the weathering around the chimney etc.
What scale is this?

Its for 28mm gaming, scale is roughly 1/50 - 1/56 I guess. Its hard to tell since 28mm is so ambiguous. I do know that my S Scale trains which are 1/64 look good with these buildings while 1/48 scale (standard gauge anyway) tend to look way to big (On3 is a whole different story)

This is out of Sarissa's Old West Heroic line, their regular Old West line is smaller.

Thanks! I still see things that could have been done better, but overall I'm happy with it.
