Ah but they have internal warmth! Mind you, I think the Dark Ages warriors were partial to a bit of that as well (internal warmth, not young lasses - until after the conquest).

Well it was during the latter part of the "Medieval Warm Period", so temperatures were a bit higher than anyone but the youngest of us is used to. Only in the last twenty years have temperatures equalled those of that period.

They were a tough bunch, but consider your average Saturday night, even in winter, and you can see plenty of lasses out in the cold night air wearing less.

Yes, but this is male warriors we are on  about, the female of the species can apparently stand the cold better due to genetics or something, men aren't as hardy. And they're usually p*ssed before they set foot outdoors anyway on a Saturday night, so alcohol has some sort of magic cold repellant as well.
