Just thought I would put up some (well quite a few) images of my LOTR miniatures along with the wife's.  Both armies are nearly completed now with just a few pieces to go, let me know what you think :)

And now an over view of all mine together:

Nice work. I never realised how big the sauron miniature is. That trebuchet looks nice too

They certainly are and very nice too

He certainly is though I think he could do with being a tad bigger but still a lovely miniature

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

Great models!

Disappointing title, I was expecting a H.R.Giger vision of LOTR, which I thought would be interesting to see!

However, it's always good to see a GW LOTR project.  :)

An impressive array with some beautifully painted minis there - and with a partner who wargames as well! - I'm somewhat envious! I think the best most of us can expect is a 'that's very nice dear, now when were you going to redecorate?'

Two great armies there, Giger.
I am very impressed.
 :-*

In fact, your showcasing of those Mordor chaps has made me realise that there are some great figures in the range, particularly the Nazgul riders.
(At least that is what I assume them to be).

I also note that you get to be the 'Bad Guys'.
 ;)

 lol lol lol
That did make me chuckle....

Nice armies. I've always shunned away from painting many models. But I guess for War of the RIngs you'll need as many as you can possibly manage to paint. Well done and keep on collecting the armies.

Sorry about that but you just made me wonder what Giger would have done with Sauron or Shelob, yikes :o

Yep Mason I get the bad guys (as always), I've actually just finished off the two Saurons and have stared on the Fellbeast so some snaps will come soon.  I'm also adding some Fallen Dwarves to these lot, they come through Anvil Industries and they're amazing (well in my opinion).

We don't actually play with GW rules, we use Mantic's KOW rule set which works lovely and all we needed to do was play around with the army lists somewhat.

:D

Ever wondered about unit bases vs. movement trays?  Or do you like to keep the minis free for an odd skirmish?

Thank you, we like to keep them free for the possible future KOW skirmish rules :)
