Some pics of my village in progress and a "battle report" for those of you interested:

Both look awesome! Did you make the buildings yourself?

Thank you. Yes I made the buildings. I think my buddy made the watchtower and bought the temple in Japan.

Some painted samurai:

A 15mm project I started a few years back - a modular Sengoku-Jidai castle

And some Takeda Ashigaru

and their opponents the Hojo

The sheer scale of the painting and modelling I have to say has put me off this, especially hand painting all the heraldry in 15mm

At some point I will get back to this but apart from a DB* style basing system I have no ruleset to egg me on to finish...

I used Hail Caesar last year for my samurai battles. There are pics of it on the warlord games forum. Just look in the section for hail caesar battle reports and look for the battle of chungdu post.
am thinking of using dux britanniarum for smaller scale battles, or triumph and tragedy

Are the figures by Peter Pig?

Can I add a couple of shots we've taken for the Ronin game from Osprey Publishing?

The top image is Bushi V bandits. The Bushi is made up from plastic Wargames Factory figures, the Bandits our metal Ronin figures. All were painted by Kev Dallimore.

The second image is of North Star Ronin figures, Sohei Monks V Bandits. The Sohei were painted by Dave Woodward.

Kev took both pictures.

Cheers
Nick

I just finished my first samurai :)

Varnishing and basing will be done later when I have more finished so that I can do them in batches.

I'm going to play Ronin in 42mm, but that bandit leader inspired me to convert my own nodachi wielder (still have some painting to do):

I don't do any historical stuff as yet. But the monks by Northstar have drawn me to Samurai and plan on getting a few warbands for it. I know nothing lol anybody recommend any books I've picked up a few freebies from Amazon to have read of.

Some lovely settings show by people here very inspirational :D
